Senior Functional Consultant – SAP, Aerospace & Defense / Manufacturing

Salary Range: $90,000–$150,000 annually, based on experience
Employment Type: Full-Time

About Twenty5

Twenty5 helps project-centric organizations deliver better outcomes through AI, predictive analytics, and modern enterprise technology. We partner with clients across Aerospace & Defense, Manufacturing, Professional Services, and Capital Projects to modernize how they plan, price, cost, and run complex projects. Our platform is built natively on SAP Business Technology Platform.

We're a remote-first, globally connected team that values practical problem-solving, accountability, and real client impact.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Functional Consultant who understands SAP-enabled manufacturing and has worked in or alongside Aerospace & Defense, government contracting, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on, client-facing functional role. You'll work directly with business stakeholders to understand their operations, document requirements, map processes, configure solutions, and support successful implementations of the Twenty5 platform and related ERP and CRM systems.

The strongest candidates understand how manufacturing organizations actually run, not just how the software works. You can hold a credible conversation about product costing, project-based manufacturing, production planning, materials, order settlement, and quality with both a shop-floor lead and a CFO.

This is not an SAP developer, ABAP, BTP, or Basis role. We're looking for a functional consultant who has owned business processes, configuration, requirements, and testing with real end users.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with customers to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
  • Lead discovery sessions and translate business needs into practical functional solutions.
  • Analyze current-state processes and design improved future-state workflows.
  • Configure and support the Twenty5 platform and related enterprise solutions.
  • Support ERP and CRM implementations, including configuration, data mapping, integrations, testing, documentation, training, and deployment.
  • Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT): build test scenarios, coordinate defect resolution, and confirm solutions meet requirements.
  • Apply manufacturing and A&D knowledge to problems involving costing, production, materials, quality, project delivery, and operational reporting.
  • Work across finance, manufacturing, supply chain, project management, IT, and technical teams.
  • Write or interpret SQL queries when needed for reporting, analysis, validation, or troubleshooting.
  • Produce clear functional specifications, process maps, user stories, configuration documentation, and test scripts.
  • Provide ongoing functional support and recommend process and system improvements.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 5–10+ years of functional consulting, ERP functional analysis, or business systems analysis experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing business processes.
  • Experience with Aerospace & Defense, government contractors, aviation, or another complex, highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of one or more of: product costing and cost object controlling; project-based, engineer-to-order, or make-to-order manufacturing; production planning and manufacturing execution; project accounting and order settlement; materials management and procurement; BOMs, routings, MRP, inventory, or quality processes; finance and controlling in a manufacturing context.
  • A track record of gathering requirements, mapping processes, configuring solutions, and supporting end users.
  • Demonstrated ownership of SIT and UAT.
  • Strong client-facing communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred SAP Experience

Strongly preferred in one or more areas:

  • SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC
  • SAP Product Costing (CO-PC)
  • SAP Project Systems (PS)
  • SAP Production Planning (PP)
  • SAP Materials Management (MM)
  • SAP Quality Management (QM)
  • SAP Sales and Distribution (SD)
  • Cross-module integration across Finance, Manufacturing, Projects, Materials, and Sales
  • Full-cycle SAP implementation, rollout, upgrade, or transformation projects

Candidates with exceptional A&D and manufacturing-process expertise on another major ERP platform will still be considered if they can pick up new systems quickly. If you're deep on one side (domain or SAP) and lighter on the other, apply anyway and tell us where your strength is.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Direct functional experience with an A&D manufacturer, government contractor, or a consulting practice serving A&D clients.
  • Hands-on SAP configuration experience, not solely project coordination or technical development.
  • Product Costing, Controlling, or Project Systems experience in a project-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of government-contract manufacturing: contract structures, project accounting, traceability, compliance, or customer-specific access requirements.
  • Experience leading client workshops and advising business leaders on process improvements.

What Success Looks Like

In your first several months, you'll:

  • Build a strong understanding of the Twenty5 platform, our customers, and our implementation approach.
  • Earn credibility with client stakeholders by understanding both their business and their technology.
  • Independently lead requirements and process-discovery conversations.
  • Produce clear, actionable functional documentation.
  • Support configuration, testing, deployment, and adoption of solutions that solve real operational problems.
  • Spot opportunities to improve customer processes and strengthen outcomes.

Why Join Twenty5

  • Visible impact at a growing enterprise software company.
  • Direct work with leading Aerospace & Defense and manufacturing organizations.
  • A role at the intersection of enterprise technology, AI, predictive analytics, and operational transformation.
  • A collaborative, high-performing global team and a remote-first culture.
  • Meaningful client-facing work with real room to grow as we scale.

Eligibility and Work Authorization

Some Twenty5 engagements involve access to technical data governed by U.S. export control laws (ITAR and EAR). For those engagements, applicants must qualify as a "U.S. person" as defined under those regulations, which includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status.

Applicants must also:

  • Reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Be able to travel up to 20–30% when required.
  • Be able to meet applicable client-specific, contractual, background-screening, or system-access requirements, which will be discussed during the hiring process.

Equal Opportunity

Twenty5 is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to an inclusive workplace. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business needs, consistent with applicable law. We do not discriminate on the basis of citizenship, immigration status, national origin, or any other protected characteristic, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
