Concourse is building the operating system for State and Local governments: a configurable platform that turns fragmented government data and broken workflows into smooth operations for public servants and the people they serve. We have significant, accelerating revenue and a product that genuinely works. Now we need to build the financial rigor behind the growth.
This is the first dedicated finance hire at Concourse. You'll work directly with the CEO to build the financial foundation that will guide every major decision the company makes: how we price new products, which markets to enter next, when to hire, where to invest capital, and how we tell our story to future investors. You won't be reporting into a finance org of 50 people. You'll be building it.
The right person for this role came up through FP&A at a top accounting or professional services firm — EY, KPMG, Deloitte, or similar. You know how to build a forecast, tie a clear narrative to the numbers, and communicate financial logic to people who aren't finance people. You've put in the reps. Now you want to apply that skill set inside a single, fast-growing company instead of across a portfolio of clients.
Build and own Concourse's operating model: revenue forecasting, unit economics, headcount planning, and scenario analysis across the business
Partner with the CEO on strategic decisions (new market entry, pricing, capital allocation, and partnership economics) by building the models that frame the options clearly
Develop and maintain KPIs and financial reporting that give leadership a real-time view of the business: what's working, what's at risk, and where to push harder
Lead ad-hoc analyses as the business demands: competitive benchmarking, build vs. buy analysis, contract economics, and investor-facing materials
Build the financial infrastructure from scratch: the processes, templates, and reporting cadence that will scale with the company
Serve as the internal finance partner to company leadership, helping them understand what the numbers mean and how to use them
2-3 years of FP&A or financial planning experience, ideally at a top accounting or professional services firm (EY, KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, or similar)
Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills; you can build a bottoms-up revenue forecast, headcount plan, or KPI dashboard from a blank spreadsheet
Sharp instincts for the story behind the numbers. You don't just report metrics, you interpret them and recommend action
Ability to operate independently in an unstructured environment; there's no playbook here, and you'll need to write it
Clear, direct communicator, comfortable presenting analysis to a founder/CEO and pushing back when the assumptions don't hold
Open to candidates based in Canada working fully remote, or based in NYC and willing to work in-person in Flatiron (5 days/week)
This role is not a fit for candidates coming from a private equity or investment banking background — we're looking for someone who wants to own the operating rhythm of a single company, not evaluate deals.
Nice to have: a year of FP&A experience at a high-growth startup or tech company, exposure to government contracting economics, or experience supporting a fundraise process.
Concourse is an early-stage startup with significant, accelerating revenue building AI-native software for state and local governments. This is the CEO's second venture after a successful exit.
The government software market is enormous ($200B+), almost entirely unmodernized, and structurally underserved. Existing vendors built for Fortune 500 companies. Palantir built for defense agencies with unlimited budgets. Nobody has built the right platform for the thousands of state and local agencies running essential public services on systems older than the internet.
Our team members, bolstered by the latest in agentic engineering and modern software design, are fixing that. Our team is based in Flatiron, NYC.
