Location: Remote 

This is a fully remote position. Preference will be given to candidates located within approximately ±5 hours of the United Kingdom (London) time zone. The successful candidate must be comfortable working remotely, coordinating activities across international teams, and supporting a Director based in the United Kingdom. Flexibility to accommodate occasional meetings outside of standard local business hours is required to support global collaboration and program delivery. 


MISSION OBJECTIVE :
The Equal Justice Academy Assistant provides temporary operational and administrative support to Equality Now's Equal Justice Academy (EJA). Reporting to the Director,  Equal Justice Academy,  the Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of virtual and in-person learning programs, Leaderful Labs, webinars, and other Academy initiatives.
The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day administration of EJA activities by coordinating logistics, participant communications, scheduling, learning resources, and virtual learning platforms. The Assistant also supports research, continuous improvement, and operational processes that strengthen the Academy's learning experience and contribute to Equality Now's mission of advancing the rights of women and girls worldwide.


PORTFOLIO/TEAM OVERVIEW:

The Equal Justice Academy (EJA) is Equality Now's global learning platform, designed to strengthen leadership, collaboration, and capacity across the gender equality movement through innovative learning experiences, peer exchange, and communities of practice. The Coordinator works closely with the Equal Justice Academy Lead, internal Equality Now teams, consultants, facilitators, and external partners to coordinate Academy activities and ensure the successful delivery of learning programs. The role supports cross-functional collaboration and contributes to strengthening Equality Now's global impact through high-quality learning and knowledge sharing.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a general outline of duties and responsibilities for this role. It is not an exhaustive list, and additional duties may be assigned or removed at the discretion of the Director to meet organizational needs and priorities: 


Purpose: Execute Complex Tasks

Supports the completion of complex, multi-step operational and administrative processes for the Equal Justice Academy by applying developing subject matter knowledge and established organizational procedures. Coordinates learning activities, manages logistics, and supports program implementation to advance Equality Now's learning objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate logistics for virtual and in-person trainings, workshops, webinars, Leaderful Labs, and other Academy learning activities.
  • Manage participant registration, scheduling, and communications.
  • Coordinate calendars across multiple international time zones.
  • Prepare agendas, learning materials, facilitator resources, and meeting documentation.
  • Maintain participant databases, learning calendars, and project documentation.
  • Support consultant onboarding, procurement documentation, and administrative processes.
  • Conduct research on learning platforms, networking tools, and communities of practice.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and learning resources.

Engagement: Inform & Support

Responds to questions from colleagues, facilitators, consultants, and participants by providing timely information, clarifying Academy processes, and identifying challenges early to support successful program delivery. Communicates effectively with external partners by providing practical guidance, coordinating logistics, and fostering collaborative working relationships that support high-quality learning experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for participant inquiries and routine Academy communications.
  • Coordinate communications with facilitators, consultants, speakers, and external partners.
  • Maintain participant mailing lists and distribute learning materials.
  • Support collaboration across Equality Now teams and external stakeholders.

Delivery: Prioritize & Execute

Organizes and completes assigned work by following established priorities, timelines, and organizational procedures to support the successful delivery of Academy programs. Ensures work products are accurate, consistent, timely, and aligned with Equality Now's quality standards, values, and operational expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Track participation, attendance, and completion of Academy activities.
  • Support the Impact team to compile participant feedback and evaluation data.
  • Support preparation of reports, dashboards, and summaries.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement of Academy operations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & TARGET SKILLS PROFILE:

Substantive Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of learning coordination, adult learning, training administration, or capacity strengthening is desirable.
  • Understanding of project coordination and operational support within an international nonprofit or NGO environment.
  • Familiarity with gender equality, human rights, or international development is desirable.
  • Understanding of virtual learning delivery and participant engagement.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully across diverse audiences. 
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with internal colleagues, consultants, facilitators, and external partners while providing responsive, service-oriented support across multiple cultures and time zones.

Execution Skills:

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work. 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and sound judgment. 
  • Ability to follow established procedures while identifying issues and escalating them appropriately.


TARGETED SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Adult Learning, International Development, Human Rights, Gender Studies, Communications, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • At least two years of relevant experience coordinating learning programs, events, project administration, or operations.
  • Experience supporting virtual learning programs or online events is helpful.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and learning management systems or similar virtual learning platforms.
  • Experience working in an international NGO or nonprofit organization is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting gender equality, women's rights, or human rights initiatives is an asset.

Languages

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Additional language skills are desirable.


COMPENSATION:

  • Compensation Benchmark (UK Equivalent): USD $37,257–$42,642 per annum

The figures above represent the annual full-time equivalent salary range used for market benchmarking. As this is a short-term engagement from August through December 2026, the successful candidate will receive a prorated fixed fee based on the duration of the engagement.  The final offer within this range will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and qualifications.
