Manage a caseload of electrical apprentices by conducting regular workplace visits, progress reviews, and assessments to ensure industry standards are met. Provide coaching, feedback, and support to learners and employers to facilitate successful programme completion.

About the role
As an Electrical Training Officer, you will play a key role in supporting apprentices and learners to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to achieve industry standards, build occupational competence and support successful careers within the electrical industry.
Managing a caseload of apprentices and learners across your region, you will work closely with both learners and employers to monitor progress, provide assessment and feedback, and ensure individuals remain on track to successfully complete their programme. Through regular workplace visits, progress reviews, coaching and mentoring, you will help learners overcome barriers, build confidence and fulfil their potential.

You will:
Manage a caseload of apprentices and learners, supporting their progress, achievement and successful completion of their programme.
Conduct regular workplace visits and progress reviews, working with apprentices and employers to review progress and agree actions.
Assess apprentice knowledge, skills and behaviours and provide constructive feedback to support development and improvement.
Support apprentices, learners and employers to understand gateway, end-point assessment and AM2 requirements, ensuring individuals are appropriately prepared and ready to progress.
Monitor attendance, engagement, off-the-job training and Functional Skills progress, ensuring apprentices and learners are making at least expected progress.
Identify apprentices and learners at risk of falling behind and implement timely interventions to support successful outcomes.
Promote personal development, employability skills and professional behaviours through JTL’s Steps to Success curriculum.
Promote safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety throughout apprenticeship and training delivery.
Maintain a good working knowledge of regulations and funding policy, providing advice and guidance to employers as required.
Represent JTL professionally when working with employers, apprentices and other stakeholders.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for an experienced electrician who is passionate about developing others and helping them succeed.
You will bring:
A recognised electrical apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation or equivalent qualification.
An ECS Card (or equivalent).
Strong technical knowledge and industry experience as a qualified electrician.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
Confidence using IT systems and digital technologies.
A commitment to maintaining your professional and technical knowledge.
It would be beneficial if you also have:
Current IET Wiring Regulations qualification (e.g. BS 7671 18th Edition) or equivalent.
Level 3 Inspection and Testing qualification (e.g. 2391) or equivalent.
GCSE Mathematics and English (Grade 4/C or equivalent).
Level 3 TAQA Award, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent assessor qualification.
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent).
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification.
First Aid qualification or equivalent.
Fire Marshal training or equivalent.
Experience of working within apprenticeships, further education or work-based learning.
Working knowledge of the building services engineering and related industries.
