Director of Sales – ESCO


The Director of Sales for ESCO is a remote sales leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding strategic partnerships, and leading national sales initiatives across the Energy Service Company (ESCO), Performance Contracting, and distribution channels. This position provides leadership to a high-performing sales team while developing market strategies, strengthening customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities within the commercial lighting and energy efficiency sector.


This opportunity is ideal for a sales executive with a proven background in ESCO sales, channel development, and team leadership who thrives in a relationship-driven, growth-focused environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.

  • Build and expand strategic relationships with ESCOs, performance contractors, electrical distributors, and key industry partners.

  • Lead, coach, and mentor Territory Sales Managers to maximize performance and territory growth.

  • Identify new business opportunities while strengthening existing customer partnerships.

  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to support strategic decision-making.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive pricing strategies, manage project opportunities, and support the sales process from quotation through project execution.

  • Deliver product presentations, technical training, and sales enablement programs for customers and channel partners.

  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline visibility, and CRM reporting.

  • Represent the organization at customer meetings, industry events, and strategic business reviews throughout the assigned region.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred.

  • 7+ years of sales or account management experience, with prior experience supporting ESCOs, performance contractors, or commercial lighting markets preferred.

  • 5+ years of sales leadership or people management experience.

  • Strong understanding of ESCO sales, energy efficiency projects, channel sales, and distributor networks.

  • Experience developing strategic customer relationships and managing complex sales opportunities.

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.

  • Strong analytical abilities with experience interpreting sales metrics and market data.

  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 50–70%) to support customers, channel partners, and regional sales teams.
