AI Summary

The Director of Operations will own the end-to-end supply chain, including manufacturing, vendor relationships, demand planning, and logistics. This role is responsible for scaling operational systems and ensuring quality and compliance standards are met as the business grows.

Company Overview

At Rosabella, we're dedicated to helping women feel their best through every chapter of their wellness journey. Inspired by a personal story, we set out to create thoughtfully formulated supplements that provide meaningful nutritional support during menopause and beyond. By combining carefully selected ingredients with a commitment to quality and transparency, we're making it easier for women to prioritize their health with products they can trust.

Position Summary

The Director of Operations owns supply chain and quality end to end: manufacturing and vendor relationships, demand planning and inventory, logistics and fulfillment, and the quality and compliance standards behind every product we ship. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the operational backbone of the business scales in lockstep with revenue growth, without compromising product quality or reliability.

This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. Our current processes and vendor relationships need to be rebuilt and scaled for where the business is headed, not just kept running as is. The Director of Operations works directly with the Founder / CEO and has full ownership of supply chain strategy and execution.

We operate an asset-light model built around external co-manufacturers and 3PL partners rather than in-house production. This role owns and scales that external model; it is not a mandate to build an in-house manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Management: Own the end-to-end supply chain, from raw materials and co-manufacturers through to fulfillment, ensuring production capacity scales with demand.

  • New Product Development: Own supply chain and quality planning for new product launches, from raw material sourcing through manufacturing scale-up and first shipment.

  • Demand Planning & Inventory: Forecast demand and manage inventory levels across SKUs to prevent stockouts and overstock; own reorder points and safety stock strategy.

  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Own quality control processes across manufacturing partners; ensure compliance with applicable supplement manufacturing regulations (e.g., GMP, FDA/DSHEA requirements) and relevant third-party certifications.

  • Vendor & Manufacturer Management: Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with co-packers, ingredient suppliers, and manufacturing partners; evaluate and onboard new vendors as needed.

  • Logistics & Fulfillment: Manage 3PL and warehouse relationships; own fulfillment performance, including on-time delivery and cost per order, and resolve logistics issues as they arise.

  • Cost & Margin Management: Own COGS optimization, negotiate favorable manufacturing and logistics terms, and identify efficiency opportunities as volume scales.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with marketing, growth, and finance teams to align supply planning with demand forecasts and product launch timelines.

  • Process & Systems: Own and complete our in-progress DOSS ERP implementation, including resolving upstream data issues in Shopify that are currently blocking rollout, and build the systems and processes needed to support continued scale.

  • Team Leadership: Build and manage an operations team as headcount needs grow with the business.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing leadership, ideally within CPG, DTC, or supplements/nutraceuticals.

  • Hands-on experience sourcing, vetting, onboarding, and managing co-manufacturers (co-mans), not just working within a co-man relationship someone else set up.

  • Experience implementing and using an ERP system in a previous role (DOSS experience is a plus, not required).

  • Working knowledge of quality assurance and regulatory compliance for supplement or CPG manufacturing.

  • Strong background in demand planning, inventory management, and logistics / 3PL operations.

  • Track record of building or substantially rebuilding supply chain operations to support fast revenue growth, not just operating within an existing system.

  • Analytical, data-driven approach to forecasting and inventory decisions.

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the supplement, nutraceutical, or health & wellness category specifically.

  • Familiarity with third-party quality certifications relevant to supplements (e.g., NSF, Informed Sport).

  • Experience building an operations function from the ground up at a high-growth DTC brand.

Who This Role Is Not For

In the interest of being upfront: this role is not a fit for everyone, and that's by design.

  • This is not for people who need mature systems and settled processes already in place. You'll be building and rebuilding as you go.

  • This is not for people who can't pivot quickly when a vendor falls through, a product line shifts, or priorities change with little notice.

  • This is not for people who prefer to route decisions through committee before acting. This role owns the call and the outcome.

  • This is not for people who treat quality and compliance as a checkbox rather than a standard they personally hold the line on.

  • This is not for people who want a fixed, predictable scope. The role will change shape as the business scales.

  • This is not for people who come in wanting to build and run an in-house manufacturing team. We operate an external co-manufacturer and 3PL model, and this role owns that model rather than replacing it.

  • This is not for people who are resistant to direct, frequent feedback or need it delivered gently. We give feedback often and expect it to be applied, not debated.

  • This is not for people who default to "we need more headcount or new tools" as a first move instead of solving problems with what we have.

  • This is not for people who are skeptical of AI tools or unwilling to work closely with offshore virtual assistants. We rely heavily on both, and reticence with either has been a real problem in this seat before.

Work Environment

  • Remote-first, EST hours preferred, with periodic travel to manufacturing and 3PL facilities as needed.

  • Direct access to and regular collaboration with the Founder / CEO.

  • Fast-paced, high-ownership environment with minimal approval layers between decision and execution.

  • This is not a standard 9-to-5 role. When something breaks (a product recall, a vendor failure, a launch gone sideways) you may need to work nights or weekends until it's resolved. During our last recall, the Founder was effectively on call around the clock for over a week.

  • Performance and outcomes are prioritized over hours logged.

What We Value

  • Output-Focused: We prioritize and reward results.

  • Accountability: Team members own their decisions, mistakes, and outcomes.

  • Thirst for Knowledge: We learn continuously from data, customers, and each other, and treat "this is how it's always been done" as a red flag, not an answer.

  • Coachable: Takes direct, frequent feedback and applies it quickly rather than debating it. We are a very direct team.

  • Resourceful: Comfortable operating in a lean team with limited resources. Solves problems with what's available before asking for new headcount or new software.

  • AI & Offshore-Fluent: Comfortable using AI tools (we are AI-heavy) to automate tasks and run analysis, and experienced working effectively with offshore virtual assistants, or genuinely open to learning both quickly.

Hiring Process

  • Application review.

  • Interview with recruiter.

  • Interview with Founder / CEO.

  • Study: a scoped case study or assessment focused on a real supply chain or quality scenario.
