About the role

The Senior Director of People is a trusted advisor who will build and scale the People function during a critical phase of growth. This role is responsible for aligning People initiatives with organizational goals, exceptional company culture, and high employee engagement. This role is a key strategic partner in shaping how we hire, develop, and retain top talent as we grow. You will be responsible for creating the systems, programs, and leadership capabilities needed to support a high-performing, fully remote organization.

What you'll do

Hiring and Onboarding

• Partner with leadership to scale quality hiring while maintaining a high talent bar
• Manage and develop the internal Talent team to continue to build a strong, efficient hiring engine. Deliver a consistent, high-quality candidate experience that reflects Dropzone’s brand and core values.
• Develop a best in class onboarding program to accelerate time-to-impact and early employee engagement

Leadership Development

• Coach and develop managers across the company on leadership best practices to optimize effectiveness, accountability, and team performance
• Build scalable leadership development programs to support both current leaders, and identify and develop high potential talent for future internal promotions
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team on organizational design and succession planning

Culture & Engagement

• Strengthen and scale a culture that is fast-paced, has high ownership, and is highly collaborative
• Maintain high levels of employee engagement as the company grows
• Build feedback loops and programs that reinforce alignment, performance, and team health in a fully remote environment

Performance & People Programs

• Build and evolve performance management programs that drive clarity, accountability, and growth
• Support managers in goal setting, feedback, and performance conversations
• Use performance and feedback data to inform development plans and organizational decisions. 

People Operations & Infrastructure

• Own and manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring employee well-being, market competitiveness and compliance
• Develop and deliver regular reporting on key metrics, including headcount, turnover, hiring, and KPIs that align performance with business outcomes
• Manage the company’s HCM (Rippling), leaves, and employee relations
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and best practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in People/HR leadership roles, including experience in high-growth environments
• Experience in startup and high-growth technology companies (cybersecurity experience a plus)
• Proven experience developing high performing teams, across a business and within own team
• Proven ability to influence and drive decisions at the senior leadership levels.
• Strong judgment, high ownership, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to translate vision into action
• Exceptional relationship builder, communicator, strategic people partner, and coach
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment/Travel

We are a 100% remote company where you will work from your home with company-provided equipment to set you up for success. Semi-frequent travel to professional office settings and other events locally and nationally; some overnight travel expected.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range below, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at Dropzone your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition, all compensation packages include significant above market new hire equity grants because we believe in rewarding long term value creation. If you are hired at Dropzone your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
