The Director of Customer Partnerships is responsible for managing a North American territory, carrying an annual revenue quota, and executing a disciplined sales process. This includes generating qualified leads, maintaining a robust pipeline in Salesforce, and collaborating with the design team to provide customized industrial solutions.
Director of Customer Partnerships (DCP)
Workplace Modular Systems | Londonderry, NH | Full-time, quota-carrying sales role
About Workplace Modular Systems
Workplace Modular Systems has built heavy-duty, welded steel, US-sourced modular systems since 1950 from our headquarters in Londonderry, New Hampshire. We design and manufacture build-to-order industrial workstations, technical lab benches, and scientific modular setups. We beat offshore supply chains by quoting in days and delivering fully manufactured product in 4 to 6 weeks, against a typical offshore lead time of 14 to 18 weeks. Our advantage is durable, ergonomic, highly customized configurations, not off-the-shelf catalog items.
The Role
The Director of Customer Partnerships owns a defined North American territory and carries an annual revenue quota. You will build and close a pipeline of build-to-order workstations and technical benches, moving opportunities on a fast sales cycle where revenue is a direct function of how many qualified opportunities you create each week. This is a system-dependent role: success comes from consistent execution of a documented process logged in Salesforce, not from heroics.
Territory
This posting is territory-flexible. The successful candidate will be assigned one North American territory covering a defined set of US states, Canadian provinces, and in some cases Latin American markets. Inbound leads and outbound activity route by prospect geography.
What You Will Own
- Carry an annual revenue quota for an assigned North American territory.
- Meet the daily activity standard: 20 outbound calls and 20 outbound emails, all logged in Salesforce.
- Maintain active pipeline at 5x monthly quota coverage at all times.
- Make first-touch contact on marketing-sourced inbound leads within 4 business hours of routing.
- Self-quote your own projects through the Combeenation CPQ configurator (effective August 31, 2026), escalating only truly custom configurations to engineering and design.
- Create opportunities the same day they qualify and progress them on a 21-day average sales cycle.
- Maintain source-attribution discipline in Salesforce: lead source, campaign or asset, and first-touch attribution preserved through close.
- Update opportunity status within 24 hours of every marketing-sourced touchpoint.
- Attend a bi-weekly pipeline review with the leadership team.
- Map client requirements to WMS products and accessories (articulating arms, bin mounting, lighting) and factor lead time into every proposal.
- Partner with the Design Specialist on quoting collaboration, design, and post-sale coordination.
- Provide structured monthly feedback on lead quality and refer closed-won success stories to marketing within 30 days.
Compensation Structure
Compensation is base salary plus monthly commission earned on invoiced revenue against your monthly quota. The structure is consistent across the DCP team. The role includes benefits and travel and expense support. Specific figures are set based on experience and territory.
What We Look For
- Demonstrated hunter mentality with a history of generating new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and outbound sales activity.
- Track record of opening new accounts rather than primarily managing existing customers.
- Competitive, self-motivated sales professional who consistently exceeds activity and revenue expectations.
- Direct experience selling in our industry is strongly preferred: industrial workstations, technical benches, lab furniture and casework, or modular systems. Broader B2B experience in manufacturing, industrial products, or capital equipment will be considered.
- Proven track record carrying and hitting a revenue quota.
- Experience managing a Central or Western US territory is a strong plus, ideally with exposure to semiconductor, EV and battery, aerospace and defense, or pharma and lab verticals.
- Comfort with high-volume, disciplined outbound activity and rigorous CRM logging. Salesforce experience preferred.
- Consultative selling skills: ability to translate customer requirements into configured product solutions.
- Comfort with CPQ or product configurator tools, or the aptitude to learn one quickly.
- Self-directed operator who thrives on a documented system and consistent daily execution.
- Willingness to own a multi-state or multi-province territory and travel as needed.
Why WMS
- 75+ years of US manufacturing and a genuine lead-time advantage you can sell with confidence.
- A resourced 2026 commercial system: inbound demand generation, CPQ self-quoting, and account intelligence support, so you spend more time selling.
- A defined, protected territory and a clear, consistent compensation structure.
