Director of Business Development — Clinical Research

IMA Clinical Research is seeking a results-driven Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives across our site-based, hybrid, and decentralized clinical trial service lines. This is a full-time, remote position requiring occasional travel.

Please note: this position is not accepting candidates based in New York City, Chicago, California, Colorado, or Washington state at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with key decision-makers across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and contract research organizations
  • Drive revenue growth by securing new business opportunities across the full spectrum of clinical trial models
  • Oversee the complete sales lifecycle, from lead generation through contract close, consistently meeting or exceeding assigned targets
  • Represent IMA Clinical Research at industry conferences and professional events, articulating the organization's value proposition
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and account records within CRM systems, ensuring a high standard of client relationship management

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in sales within the clinical research sector, with a proven ability to originate and close business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders
  • Strong self-direction, with the ability to independently identify opportunities and execute effective sales strategies
  • Superior organizational and time-management capabilities across concurrent priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will be considered
  • 1–2 years of sales experience within clinical research, site networks, CROs, or pharmaceutical organizations
