Align HCM is looking for an experienced Dayforce HCM (HR/Payroll) System Consultant to join our growing Dayforce practice. You will own the Payroll workstream on end-to-end Dayforce implementations, from discovery and solution design through configuration, testing, parallel, go-live, and post-go-live support. In this role, you will translate client payroll and HR requirements into accurate, compliant Dayforce solutions, build client relationships grounded in trust, and keep growing your expertise across the Dayforce HCM product suite.
Primary Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Lead clients through end-to-end Dayforce Payroll implementations, including discovery, requirements gathering, gap analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, parallel, cutover, go-live, and post-go-live support.
- Document and validate client business requirements and map them to Dayforce functionality, challenging requirements and recommending best practices where they add value.
- Configure and validate Dayforce Payroll, including pay groups and calendars, earnings and deductions, federal, state, and local tax setup, garnishments, general ledger (GL) mapping, and payroll reports and outputs, along with the core HR setup that drives payroll (org structure, positions, and employee data).
- Create data mapping and validate conversions from source payroll systems to Dayforce, including year-to-date balances, tax and deduction history, and banking; write functional specifications for customizations and partner with integration resources on GL, benefits, banking, and third-party interfaces.
- Build test scenarios and lead payroll testing, including unit, system, user acceptance (UAT), and parallel testing with payroll balancing and reconciliation; research, triage, and document discrepancies (including root cause) through resolution.
- Plan and support cutover activities, including final balance loads, first-payroll processing support, and go-live readiness, with attention to quarter-end and year-end timing.
- Facilitate client workshops and working sessions, and produce clear design documents, configuration workbooks, and meeting notes.
- Provide post-go-live support and knowledge transfer so client teams can confidently own and maintain their solution.
- Manage multiple client engagements concurrently, tracking your time accurately, forecasting hours, and monitoring your own KPIs.
- Escalate risks and issues to project managers or practice leads in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to the Align Dayforce practice by documenting best practices, sharing solutions, mentoring teammates, and staying current on each Dayforce release.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on Dayforce implementation experience, including direct configuration of Dayforce Payroll (pay groups, earnings and deductions, tax, and GL).
- Experience delivering full end-to-end Dayforce implementations, from discovery through go-live and post-go-live support.
- Strong understanding of U.S. payroll practices and compliance, including multi-state taxation, garnishments, and quarter-end and year-end processing.
- Experience writing test scenarios, leading testing cycles (including parallel testing and payroll balancing), and troubleshooting and documenting discrepancies.
- Ownership mindset, with the ability to take accountability for your work, deliver low-defect output, and proactively manage your own time and performance targets.
- Client-facing confidence, with the ability to earn client trust, engage stakeholders professionally, and handle feedback constructively.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to present material and facilitate client working sessions.
- Ability to manage multiple clients concurrently, complete timesheets promptly, and meet or exceed utilization targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
