Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller will provide leadership and direction to the company's finance resources, including the Director of Finance and Administration, the Director of Accounts Payable and Receivable, and Accounting, Tax and Financial Reporting through GBQ. The Controller will establish clear priorities, responsibilities, performance expectations, and operating disciplines across the three finance functional areas.

The Controller will lead the DCS finance organization and will be accountable for accounting operations, financial reporting and analysis, internal controls, multi-entity accounting, tax, and the continued development of scalable financial processes. The Controller will work closely with DCS executive leadership to support sound business decisions, financing strategy, international expansion, and long-term profitable growth.

This leader will be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial statements, improving the monthly close, strengthening internal controls, managing GBQ's performance and scope of work, and ensuring DCS has the financial infrastructure required to support continued growth. The Controller will also lead finance-related requirements for the Oracle implementation.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced finance executive who can combine strong technical accounting expertise with process improvement, team development, operational understanding, and clear accountability.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises:

  • Director of Finance and Administration
  • Director of Accounts Payable and Receivable

Oversees performance and scope of work for:

  • Accounting, Tax, and Financial Reporting services provided through GBQ

Responsible for:

  • Multi-entity accounting and compliance
  • Audit coordination
  • Tax compliance oversight
  • Staff development


Duties / Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

  • Lead the accounting function and daily accounting operations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Oversee AP, AR, General Ledger, and payroll support.
  • Strengthen accounting controls and policies.
  • Improve the monthly close process.

Financial Reporting & Business Analysis

  • Produce timely, accurate management reporting for executive leadership.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Develop KPI reporting and operational visibility.
  • Lead continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting, systems, and controls.
  • Support finance-related requirements for the Oracle implementation.

Multi-Entity Accounting & Compliance

  • Lead accounting support for U.S., Canada, Mexico, and future entities.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate external audits and financial reviews.
  • Oversee tax compliance in partnership with outside advisors.
  • Maintain strong corporate governance practices.

Internal Controls

  • Develop and maintain effective internal control processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Monitor financial controls and segregation of duties.
  • Support risk management and financial governance initiatives.

Outsourced Services & Vendor Management

  • Manage GBQ's performance and scope of work for accounting, tax, and financial reporting services.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for outsourced finance service providers.

Leadership & Workforce Development

  • Lead and develop the accounting organization.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to direct reports.
  • Build a high-performance finance culture.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and development discussions.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships with Operations, HR, Sales, and executive leadership.

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and multi-entity consolidation.
  • Strong technical accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting experience.
  • Experience leading accounting teams and developing staff.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage outsourced service providers and cross-functional relationships.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems; Oracle NetSuite experience preferred.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and professional judgment.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Active CPA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Multi-entity accounting experience preferred.
  • Service-industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems required; Oracle NetSuite experience preferred.
