BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Under the general supervision of the Chief TECI and the direct supervision of the Head of Cybersecurity Operations, the incumbent will assist the team with day-to-day cyber security operational support, vulnerability management, documentation, and administration.
The incumbent will drive the Vulnerability Management (VM) program expansion and garner agreement within the organization for execution, including performing follow-up activities to ensure vulnerabilities are remediated and VM agents are installed wherever appropriate. The incumbent will run web application scans and report issues to asset owners, ensuring the Head of Cybersecurity Operations is kept up to date about the status of any risky applications or platforms. Regular reporting, including expanding the use of dashboards that show vulnerability status, remediation trends, and global expansion will also be a key priority.
The selectee will manage tickets and RFCs routed to TECI, ensuring each one is assigned and processed in a timely manner. Finally, the incumbent shall provide support to the TECI’s corresponding teams in carrying out activities related to investigating and analysing potential cyber incidents within the WFP infrastructure.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Main responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Execute vulnerability management scanning and reporting functions, in cooperation with system owners, to support remediation.
• Monitor vulnerability management dashboards and perform follow-up activities with system owners to ensure vulnerabilities are remediated.
• Support expansion of WFP’s VM program to eventually cover all WFP assets (Get Clean).
• Plan for steady state (Stay Clean) with mechanisms in place to ensure VM activities remain part of asset owners’ responsibilities.
• Monitor vulnerability management and incident management consoles, processing alerts and escalating where necessary.
• Address or escalate governance and compliance concerns as related to the TECI work program.
• Process cybersecurity intelligence feeds to determine their relevance to WFP, then communicate to the appropriate technical groups.
• Reduce risk to the organization by identifying non-compliant (rogue) applications, deprecated or exposed protocols and operating systems, then work with asset owners to proactively reduce this risk.
• Propose enhancements to reporting for alarms and other events related to security operations.
• Act as a branch focal point for the efficient monitoring and processing of service management tickets.
• Monitor Requests for Change (RFCs) and escalate where requests may have a security impact.
• Engage with colleagues within TECI and other TEC divisions to streamline processes
