Position Summary
Lutheran Services Carolinas is seeking a skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Program Analyst to help protect the organization's information systems, sensitive data, and technology infrastructure. This position supports enterprise cybersecurity initiatives through risk assessment, compliance monitoring, security awareness training, incident response coordination, and cybersecurity program development.
The Cybersecurity Program Analyst collaborates with IT leadership, business units, and external partners to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational systems while supporting compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA. Responsibilities are aligned with LSC's security and compliance objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Operations
Monitor and analyze security alerts, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
Assist in the investigation and documentation of security incidents.
Support threat detection, risk mitigation, and vulnerability management efforts.
Recommend improvements to strengthen organizational cybersecurity posture.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Support cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.
Assist with internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
Help maintain documentation for regulatory and security requirements.
Monitor adherence to established security and privacy practices.
Security Awareness & Training
Coordinate and support cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
Educate teammates on security best practices and emerging threats.
Promote compliance with security, privacy, and HIPAA requirements.
Serve as a cybersecurity resource across departments.
Collaboration & Program Support
Partner with stakeholders to implement and improve security controls.
Coordinate with internal departments and external technology vendors.
Assist in developing cybersecurity metrics, reports, and program documentation.
Support strategic cybersecurity projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Three or more years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, risk management, or compliance.
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, security controls, and risk management practices.
Understanding of privacy regulations and HIPAA requirements.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
Industry certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or similar.
Experience with security monitoring tools, vulnerability management, and incident response.
Experience supporting compliance initiatives in healthcare or nonprofit environments.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 security, cloud technologies, and identity management.
