Our rapidly-growing construction company is in need of a creative, full-time CAD designer to bring client's dreams to life! You'll serve as our primary architectural drafter and produce original, computer-generated designs in 2D and 3D. Additional responsibilities include meeting with clients, integrating feedback, and revising designs as requested. Communication skills are a must in this role, as you'll be regularly communicating the design progress to the construction team. Applicants should be experienced design engineers who enjoy highly detailed work, are passionate about working on a project from start to finish, and want to grow their careers in the construction industry. Responsibilities: • Use design software to produce 2D and/or 3D designs, depending on the complexity of the project • Receive feedback from construction team members and clients and revise designs accordingly • Create budgets and timelines for the design project by working with other construction team members • Run stress tests and simulations on all solid modeling designs before prototyping • Go to the initial client meetings to get details to understand the scope and specifications of the project Qualifications: • Extensive knowledge of architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, AutoDesk BIM, Solidworks, 3DS Max, Chief Architect Premier: Construction Drawings, SketchUp, and Lumion • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in design, architecture, construction engineering, or similar field is preferred • Be informed about the latest trends in design software and have a good understanding of the architectural design industry as a whole • Stellar attention to detail, teamwork abilities, communication skills, and organizational skills • The preferred program of choice is Vectorworks • Must have 3+ years of experience in architectural design Compensation: $53,000 yearly
