About the Role

SCC is seeking experienced adult-learning instructors to deliver instructor-led user training to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) personnel and external users as USACE replaces its Resident Management System (RMS) with the new Construction Management Platform (CMP). Instructors will teach engineering, construction, project management, and support staff, as well as external construction contractors, to navigate the CMP, use its applications, and apply it in their roles to deliver construction.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Train-the-Trainer training (up to 40 hours plus approximately 2 hours of USACE contextual training), held in person at the USACE Kansas City District the week of December 14, 2026 or the week of January 11, 2027.
  • Deliver CMP user training covering system navigation, data entry, reporting functions, and best practices, in person (3-day, 24-hour Construction Manager sessions) and virtually through Microsoft Teams (2- to 24-hour sessions for user groups including leadership, construction managers, project managers, engineers, and external construction contractors).
  • Teach from Government-provided facilitator guides and materials, pulling the latest version before each session, and recommend updates where content is out of date or hard for trainees to follow.
  • Facilitate practical exercises, simulations, and case studies using engaging methods suited to a variety of learning styles; deliver training that meets Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Complete pre-training checklists (audio-visual, Microsoft Office, and CMP training environment checks).
  • Collect daily attendance records and submit them within 2 business days; provide weekly written feedback on sessions; participate in up to 5 short quality meetings.

Required Qualifications

Professional certifications to facilitate adult learning (e.g., Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM), Certified Professional in Training Development (CPTD), or equivalent certification demonstrating competency to perform as an instructor) and a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in delivering effective training

OR

A minimum of 5 years of experience in adult training facilitation and a proven track record of delivering effective training, demonstrable through documented training evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience training users on new software platforms
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers experience
  • Experience with construction management software or construction management projects
  • Adult education experience
  • Construction engineering experience

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel to USACE locations in and outside the continental U.S.; travel expenses reimbursed in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations.
  • Provide your own computer; secure internet of at least 25 Mbps; a 1080p webcam; a noise-cancelling microphone; and reliable screen sharing.
  • Complete DoD Level I Antiterrorism Awareness Training (online) and provide the certificate; complete up to 1 hour of cultural sensitivity training for assignments outside the U.S.
  • Maintain an average student satisfaction rating of at least 3.5 out of 5.0 per session.
  • Provide documentation of certifications and/or training evaluations; final instructor selection is subject to client approval.
