The Area Sales Executive will promote and sell scientific and analytical instruments across the assigned territory while managing customer relationships in research and industrial sectors. Responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, handling government tenders, and coordinating with technical teams to ensure successful installations.
This is a remote position.
Podhikai is looking for a dedicated, high-energy Sales Executive to maintain and grow our Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Industrial, and Academic sales efforts within Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.
The executive must develop and manage customer relationships in Material science, photonics, Semiconductor, pharma and research sectors.
1. Promote and sell Scientific instruments, characterization systems, optical and photonics instruments, analytical equipment, laboratory instruments, and consumables within the assigned territory.
2. Identify new business opportunities and develop a strong customer base.
3. Meet assigned sales targets and achieve territory growth objectives.
4. Conduct customer visits, product presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions.
5. Generate enquiries, prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and close sales.
6. Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
7. Follow up on leads, quotations, purchase orders, deliveries, and payments.
8. Handle government and institutional tenders, GEM portal activities, bid preparation, documentation, and tender submissions.
9. Coordinate with application scientists and service engineers to ensure successful product installations and customer satisfaction.
10. Participate in exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and scientific seminars.
11. Monitor competitor activities and provide market intelligence.
12. Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM records, and activity reports.
13. Handle post-sales activities effectively and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term business growth.
14. Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports and submit them to the Regional Manager.
15. Travel extensively within the assigned territory.
1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, Physics, Engineering or a related discipline.
2. 0-3 years of experience in scientific instrument or laboratory equipment sales.
3. Understanding of Materials Science, Optics, Characterization Techniques, Machine learning and Analytical Laboratory Workflows.
4. Experience in institutional sales and tender handling is preferred.
5. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
6. Strong customer relationship management abilities.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
8. Willingness to travel extensively.
