As an Architectural Visualization & AI Automation Specialist, you will join a high-end architecture and interior design studio specializing in fully customized residential environments and operating across major international markets. The firm develops bespoke architectural elements, custom interiors, and furniture, while also operating an in-studio gallery. To support its continued expansion across its international locations, leadership is looking to establish an end-to-end automation infrastructure from scratch to improve operational efficiency across all studio functions.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing practical AI-driven automation tools across the firm's architectural and business workflows. Combining hands-on expertise in SketchUp and AutoCAD with practical AI automation skills, you will initially focus on streamlining 3D-to-photorealistic rendering pipelines and converting 3D models into precise 2D design development sets. Over time, you will extend automation solutions across procurement, vendor outreach, client presentations, photography reports, gallery inventory tracking, and administrative workflows.

Accountability 

As an Architectural Visualization & AI Automation Specialist, your success will be defined by your ability to independently build, test, and deploy functional AI automation solutions that reduce manual drafting and visualization time while maintaining millimeter-level precision and studio quality standards. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Architectural Visualization & Rendering Automation

• Analyze existing visualization workflows and work directly with 3D models created in SketchUp and AutoCAD.
• Identify opportunities to automate the conversion of 3D models into photorealistic renderings by configuring AI-assisted visualization tools and workflows.
• Evaluate AI platforms, test generated outputs against studio design standards, and document repeatable workflows to ensure visual consistency and production efficiency.

3D-to-2D Design Development Drawing Automation

• Review the current 2D design development set production process in AutoCAD and identify repetitive drafting tasks.
• Develop and implement automation solutions to convert approved 3D designs into detailed, highly precise 2D documentation sets.
• Ensure all automated drawing outputs strictly preserve millimeter-level dimensional accuracy and technical standards, establishing required human-in-the-loop validation checkpoints.

AI Automation Infrastructure & Custom Tool Development

• Design, build, test, and maintain custom AI agents, automated scripts, and integration workflows from scratch.
• Evaluate AI platforms and technologies (building upon initial studio experiments with tools like Claude and Astra) to select the most suitable tools for each department.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, gather user feedback from design teams, and continually refine deployed workflows for long-term operational reliability.

Operational Discovery, Roadmap & Departmental Workflows

• Conduct structured discovery sessions and interviews with architects, designers, procurement staff, and operational team members.
• Document manual, recurring processes, assess automation feasibility, estimate time savings, and build a prioritized, studio-wide automation roadmap.
• Expand AI automation into secondary functions over time, including vendor outreach, quotation tracking, client presentation formatting, photography condition reports, invoicing follow-ups, and gallery inventory or auction tracking.

Quality Assurance, SOPs & Team Adoption

• Establish rigorous testing and quality assurance protocols to validate automated visual and technical outputs against studio standards.
• Author comprehensive SOPs and documentation for every implemented tool and workflow.
• Lead training and support team adoption across both international studio locations (Los Angeles and Milan), gathering ongoing user feedback for continuous improvement.

 You will work directly with the Chief Executive Officer, studio designers, architects, procurement specialists, and operational staff across Los Angeles and Milan. At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Experience: Proven professional experience within an architecture or interior design studio, demonstrating a deep understanding of architectural production workflows, drawing conventions, and design development sets.
• Tools/Systems: Advanced hands-on proficiency in SketchUp and AutoCAD, along with practical experience utilizing modern AI platforms (such as Claude, Astra, or similar LLMs/automation frameworks).
• Analytics/Process: Strong capability in operational process mapping, workflow discovery, feasibility assessment, quality assurance testing, and technical documentation/SOP creation.
• Mindset: Highly resourceful, detail-oriented, technically curious, and comfortable building automation infrastructure from scratch in a creative, design-centric environment.

• Quality Assurance & Precision Control: How do you balance automation speed with visual quality and extreme technical accuracy, ensuring automated outputs meet high-end studio standards?

Role Specifications 

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone (8:00 AM–1:00 PM PT + 3 asynchronous hours). You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 3.5 weeks with us.
