Accounting Manager

Salary: $2,500-$2,800 USD/month

A leading provider of ABA therapy services committed to delivering high-quality care is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join their team.

The Accounting Manager will support the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations, with a strong focus on bank and credit card reconciliations, monthly close, and general ledger accuracy. This role will also oversee accounts payable, invoice and vendor management, as well as balance sheet and payroll reconciliations. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly reconciliation of all bank and credit card accounts across all locations, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including recording transactions and maintaining accurate accounting records in QuickBooks.
• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including entering and coding vendor invoices and routing invoices for approval.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and W-9s and serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries.
• Reconcile vendor balances and statements to the accounts payable subledger, researching and resolving discrepancies with vendors.
• Support the Controller in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger and accounts payable activities.
• Lead and perform the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and maintaining close checklists.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Assist in developing, maintaining, and distributing financial reports, dashboards, and KPI reports.
• Assist with payroll processing, including entering new hires, pay rate changes, and hours, and reviewing payroll for accuracy prior to submission in coordination with the Controller and Human Resources.
• Support payroll tax compliance and payroll-related reporting in coordination with the Controller and Human Resources.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Help establish, document, and maintain internal financial controls, policies, and procedures, particularly related to cash management and reconciliations.
• Support external audits, tax filings, and financial reviews by preparing schedules and required documentation.
• Identify and help implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting infrastructure as Apollo Behavior continues to expand across new clinic locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on experience with bank and credit card reconciliations, monthly close, general ledger accounting, and accounts payable.
• Experience working with US-based companies is required. Experience in healthcare or multi-site service organizations is a plus.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, payroll administration, and internal financial controls.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks or Sage.
• Advanced Excel skills are required.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of accounting responsibilities.
