Profile Requirements:

• Minimum 4+ years experience in an Australian public accounting or chartered accountancy practice, with strong exposure to Australian tax
• Proficiency in Xero as a primary platform, with working familiarity across MYOB and QuickBooks
• Solid understanding of Australian taxation including income tax, GST, BAS, superannuation, and payroll compliance
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with strong written English communication and a proactive approach to problem solving

Core responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements and reports to a high standard of accuracy
• Complete individual and business tax returns in compliance with Australian taxation requirements
• Perform bank reconciliations, superannuation processing, and BAS/GST lodgements
• Conduct bookkeeping functions including payroll and accounts management as required
• Work autonomously on client files from brief through to completion, returning work to the manager for final review
• Liaise with the internal bookkeeper to ensure all accounts are reconciled before progressing to financial and tax work
• Research and apply current Australian tax legislation to client engagements with minimal supervision
• Support the practice through periods of growth, adapting across multiple client files and work types day to day
