The Web Manager serves as the technical authority, project management leader, and direct mentor for the Web Team. This role is responsible for overseeing the entire web build pipeline, balancing team capacity, and ensuring that all website projects (from initial Figma designs to WordPress launches and ongoing maintenance) are executed with high quality, speed, and precision.
As an advanced technical expert, you will not only prioritize tasks and clear operational bottlenecks, but you will also get in the weeds to troubleshoot complex technical issues, audit site builds, and mentor team members (including Web Designers & Developers). You will act as the bridge between the Web Department and cross-functional teams (Operations, PPC, SEO, Client Experience), driving accountability, continuous workflow optimization, and AI tool integration.

Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership, Mentorship & Technical Guidance
Act as the primary mentor and technical escalations lead for Web Designers & Developers.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance across WordPress, Webflow, Figma, CSS/JS, and tracking implementations.
- Unblock team members facing complex technical bugs, integration errors, or design challenges.
- Conduct regular code/design reviews and Quality Assurance (QA) audits to elevate team craft.

2. Project Management, Pipeline & Task Prioritization
Manage department capacity, throughput, and task distribution across all active website builds and support queues.
- Oversee pipeline volume (balancing total project loads among developers to maintain target delivery windows).
- Prioritize daily and weekly work tasks to prevent project stalls or neglected client accounts.
- Establish clear timelines, milestone schedules, and task dependencies.
- Optimize project management workflows to keep project throughput steady and predictable.

- 95% on-time delivery rate across all team website builds.
- $0 stalled or neglected builds in the pipeline.
- Resource capacity is continuously balanced across active builds and support tasks.
3. Active & Clear Communication
Serve as the primary point of alignment between the Web Department, cross-functional internal teams, and key stakeholders.
- Proactively communicate project status, risks, delays, or needs to Client Experience, Ops, and Sales teams.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable language for non-technical partners.
- Handle high-level technical escalations from clients with poise and clear expectations.
- Align closely with SEO, PPC, and Operations teams to ensure web builds support broader digital marketing initiatives.

- 98% responsiveness to internal communication channels.
- Proactive updates provided on any project at risk of delay before deadlines are missed.

4. Technical Standards & Quality Assurance (QA)
Ensure all launched websites meet strict standards for speed, security, responsiveness, tracking, and conversion optimization.
- Establish and enforce web standards for core web vitals, mobile responsiveness, and on-page SEO.
- Oversee complex tracking and analytics setups (Google Analytics/GA4, Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking, form scripts).
- Conduct final pre-launch QA checks on major builds to guarantee minimal post-launch bugs.
- Maintain the health, security, and updates of hosted client sites.
- Weekly KPIs:
- 100% of launches pass the internal technical QA checklist.
- Zero major post-launch critical bugs or tracking errors.
- Page speed standards consistently met across all launched builds.
5. AI Strategy, Automation & Process Improvement
Drive efficiency across the Web Department by integrating modern AI tools, templates, and automated workflows.
- Evaluate and implement AI tools for design rendering, code generation, QA testing, and content structuring.
- Refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to systematically reduce site build turnaround times.
- Continuously seek ways to eliminate manual repetitive tasks for the design and development team.

- 1+ department-wide process, template, or AI automation improvement implemented per month.
- Measurable reduction in average website build duration over time.
6. Strategic Problem Solving & Root-Cause Resolution
Approach operational and technical roadblocks with a calm, analytical, and proactive mindset.
- Identify recurring issues in design, execution, or client requests and solve them systemically.
- Step in to resolve complex layout, script, or server issues beyond junior/mid-level developer scopes.

Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in a Web Manager, Web Project Manager, or Senior Lead Web Developer role.
- Proven track record of managing high-volume website build pipelines and client support ticket queues.
- Demonstrated experience directly managing, mentoring, or leading web designers and developers.
Technical Skills
- CMS Platforms: Expert proficiency in WordPress (custom themes, page builders, plugin management) and Webflow.
- Design Tools: Advanced working knowledge of Figma (design-to-development handoffs, component libraries).
- Tracking & Analytics: Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), custom pixel implementation, and event tracking.
- Optimization: Strong command of Core Web Vitals, page speed optimization, technical SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
- Project Management Tools: Mastery of project management software (e.g., Asana, ClickUp, Monday.com, Jira).
