Position Overview
We are seeking a senior scientific leader to lead the company’s biologics R&D strategy and execution, with a strong focus on tumor immunology and innovative biologics development.
The successful candidate will guide a large multidisciplinary R&D organization across discovery, process development, and preclinical evaluation, with the goal of developing globally competitive, differentiated biologics with strong clinical and commercial potential.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Strategy & Portfolio Planning
- Develop biologics pipeline strategies based on unmet clinical needs, scientific advances, competitive landscapes, and industry trends.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for new project initiation across tumor immunology and immune-related diseases.
- Guide portfolio priorities toward differentiated, globally competitive programs.
Biologics Innovation & Project Development
- Provide scientific leadership across key technology areas including:
- Next-generation PD-1 combination therapies
- T-cell engager (TCE) bispecific and multispecific antibodies
- Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs)
- Other innovative immune-related biologics
- Guide technical innovation, scientific problem-solving, and project progression from discovery through development.
- Evaluate and introduce emerging platform technologies to strengthen the R&D pipeline.
Clinical & Translational Strategy
- Ensure R&D programs remain closely aligned with clinical needs and potential differentiation.
- Contribute to early clinical development strategies and demonstrate an understanding of clinical trial design.
- Strengthen the translation of preclinical findings into clinical development programs.
Team Leadership & R&D Organization
- Lead and oversee biologics R&D teams across:
- Early Discovery
- Process Development
- Preclinical Evaluation
- Build a collaborative and high-performing R&D organization.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-caliber scientific talent.
- Establish effective cross-functional processes and organizational capabilities to support continued growth.
External Partnerships & Business Development
- Act as a senior scientific representative in business development evaluations.
- Provide scientific and clinical assessments of potential licensing and partnership opportunities.
- Support evaluation of in-licensing and out-licensing opportunities from a scientific and development perspective.
Requirements
Education
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Tumor Biology, or a related life science discipline.
- Strong immunology background preferred.
Professional Experience
- 10+ years of biologics R&D experience within biotechnology companies or multinational pharmaceutical companies.
- 5+ years of team management experience at Director level or above.
- Proven experience advancing biologics programs from target discovery through IND filing, with strong translational research experience.
- Extensive experience in tumor immunology, particularly PD-1 and/or TCE mechanisms, and/or ADC development.
- Experience advancing programs into mid-to-late clinical stages or successfully supporting out-licensing activities is highly preferred.
