Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Volunteer Partner (Systems and Insight) to join our team, working remotely from within the UK. You will join us on a Full-time, Permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a salary starting from £31,897 per annum.

About the Volunteer Partner (Systems and Insight) role: Ensuring the volunteer experience and journey is at the forefront of decision making and delivery is a crucial area and requirement within all of our services.
The role of the Volunteer Partner, as part of the Volunteering Team, is to act as an ambassador for our volunteers. From developing programme or guidance materials, delivering training to managers or engaging with volunteers to inform learning and development opportunities, this role is a key component of the Volunteer Team and provides an opportunity to deliver meaningful outcomes for the Charity.
This role will also have a particular focus on our systems and processes to enhance the Volunteer Experience and deepen our understanding and learning to improve frameworks further.
Hours: 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday
Location: Home based within the UK, with regular national travel
Knowledge- Specific knowledge and understanding of the external volunteering environment across England, Scotland and Wales
- A good understanding of safeguarding and governance requirements in volunteering, such as DBS, PVG etc.
- Robust understanding of volunteering frameworks and development.
- Detailed knowledge of VMS functionality and development techniques
Skills- Experience of investigating and handling volunteer issues and concerns as well as safeguarding cases.
- Proven ability to work successfully in partnership with internal and external partners.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels and stakeholder influencing skills.
- Ability to deliver volunteer engagement and development enhancement plans.
- The ability to inspire, motivate & sustain positive volunteer relationships.
- Ability to utilise, develop and/or manage change across a range of IT platforms.
Experience- Experience of confidently and professionally conveying information both written and oral in a clear, concise and persuasive style.
- Experience of volunteer management and engagement on a regional and/or national scale
- Demonstrable experience of enhancing volunteer management systems and associated marketing modules such as Dynamics.
- Successful background in developing surveys and/or consultations processes to inform volunteer engagement, support and communication.
- Segmenting cohorts of volunteers to develop targeted insights
- Programme Lead on the development of existing or new processes to enhance insight and understanding of the Volunteer Experience at RVS.
- Utilise automated and manual processes to obtain volunteer feedback, learning and insight to champion the volunteer point of view in decision making of teams and action plans
- Work closely with ESG colleagues, and wider as needed, to implement a new ‘Value of Volunteering’ Impact Framework
- Support relevant staff, and the wider charity as needed, to ensure best practice, guidance and processes is followed in relation to the volunteer journey and their responsibilities.
- Act as a point of escalation for volunteer issues, concerns or risks that require additional support for resolution.
- Undertake regular service and engagement visits to ensure the Volunteer Team is visible and accessible to stakeholders
- To advise on, monitor and maintain volunteer documentation and process resources.
- To work with the Volunteer Team, and wider charity as needed, to align processes so that learning is captured from all areas of the charity to ensure continuous development.
- To work closely with the Safeguarding Team on all safeguarding matters around volunteering to ensure the correct resolution has been reached.
- To assist with volunteer journey and experience work as required by line management

- A salary starting from £31,897 per annum
- 26 days’ holiday (pro rata) plus paid statutory Bank Holidays (pro rata)
