About the work

You'll watch short-form videos and judge how well they're cut — whether the opening grabs, whether the pacing holds, whether the piece lands. You'll write out your reasoning in detail. That written judgment is used to train an AI system, so we need real editorial thinking, not a rating out of ten.

You'll also handle some hands-on editing work, making adjustments to cuts, pacing, sequencing, and overall flow as needed.

What you'll do

• Watch short videos and assess how they're edited
• Edit short-form videos and make adjustments to cuts, pacing, sequencing, and overall flow
• Judge the hook — does the opening earn the next few seconds?
• Assess cut density, rhythm, and whether attention holds all the way through
• Identify what breaks the flow: dead air, weak transitions, a payoff that doesn't land
• Write clear explanations pointing to specific moments
• Make editorial adjustments based on your assessment

What we're looking for

• Professional editing experience in short-form work: agency or brand content, ads, TikTok, Reels, or YouTube Shorts
• Strong DaVinci Resolve skills — this is the main software
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Able to explain your editorial reasoning in writing, not just do the cut
• A reel or portfolio of short-form work

Helpful but not required

• Motion graphics or captioning experience
• Experience editing to a client brief with revision rounds

• Hourly rate, paid based on hours worked
• Ongoing work with room to grow — this is expected to be a long-running project
• Fully remote, flexible hours
• Requires a computer that runs DaVinci Resolve comfortably and a stable internet connection
