The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing global HR strategies that align with organizational goals and business growth. This role involves partnering with executive leadership to drive talent management, organizational effectiveness, and large-scale business transformations.
The Vice President, Human Resources is a strategic business leader responsible for developing and executing human resources strategies that support organizational goals, workforce effectiveness, and business growth. This role partners closely with Business Unit leadership to drive talent management, organizational design, employee engagement, leadership development, workforce planning, compensation strategies, and HR operational excellence on a global scale.
The individual serves as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, ensuring alignment between business objectives and people strategies while navigating diverse cultural, legal, and employment environments globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement global HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives and business priorities.
- Partner with executive leaders to drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
- Provide strategic counsel on talent, culture, succession planning, and organizational development.
- Design and execute talent acquisition, retention, succession planning, and leadership development strategies.
- Oversee performance management processes that drive accountability, engagement, and results.
- Partner with leaders to identify workforce capabilities needed for future business growth.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture.
- Lead employee relations strategies and resolution of complex workplace issues.
- Provide strategic guidance on compensation planning, incentive programs, and rewards strategies. Lead or support compensation governance, incentive plan design, market competitiveness reviews, retention proposals, pay equity considerations, and business cases for pay-related decisions.
- Oversee recruiting process effectiveness and hiring governance, including requisition prioritization, HRBP readiness, hiring-manager guidance, vendor coordination, and alignment with workforce cost controls.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Ensure global workforce actions are planned and executed in line with local employment laws, consultation requirements, severance practices, documentation standards, and regional HR/legal guidance.
- Monitor HR metrics and key performance indicators to evaluate organizational effectiveness. Provide governance over headcount, hiring activity, and workforce cost commitments to ensure staffing decisions align with business priorities, approved savings targets, and long-term organizational plans.
- Lead organizational restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, and transformation initiatives as needed. Lead the HR workstream for major business transformation and operating model changes, including leadership placement, organization design, employee mapping, role clarity, communication planning, and transition support.
- Facilitate change management efforts that support adoption of new strategies, structures, and processes.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or related field required
- Master’s degree (MBA, MA/MS, MHRM, or equivalent) preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant leadership responsibilities
- Experience leading HR strategies for global organizations across multiple regions and countries
- Demonstrated success partnering with senior leadership teams
- Strong experience in talent management, organizational development, workforce planning, and change management
- Experience managing geographically dispersed HR teams preferred
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and large-scale organizational transformations is highly desirable
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
