About the role

Concord Technologies is seeking an experienced, business-oriented Vice President, General Counsel to serve as the company's senior legal leader and trusted advisor to the executive team. This role will oversee all legal, regulatory, compliance, privacy, AI governance, intellectual property and commercial contracting matters across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong legal expertise with practical business judgment and thrives in a fast-paced technology environment. They will play a key role in enabling company growth, mitigating risk, and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance across a rapidly evolving portfolio of healthcare, communications, AI, and information management solutions. This leader must be equally comfortable advising the Board and senior executives as they are negotiating complex commercial agreements and developing scalable legal processes.

This role requires a collaborative leader who can balance risk management with business objectives while building a modern legal function that supports innovation, customer success, and operational excellence


Essential Functions:

Executive Leadership & Strategic Counsel

  • Serve as the legal advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors.
  • Develop and execute the company's legal strategy in alignment with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Provide proactive counsel regarding legal, regulatory, corporate governance, employment, commercial, and operational matters.
  • Partner with leadership on mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and other corporate transactions.
  • Participate as a member of the executive leadership team, helping shape organizational strategy and decision-making.

Commercial Transactions & Revenue Enablement

  • Lead negotiation, drafting, and review of customer, vendor, reseller, referral, technology, and strategic partnership agreements.
  • Advise sales, marketing, finance, product, security, and operations teams on contractual and legal matters.
  • Develop scalable contract templates, approval processes, and legal playbooks.
  • Support government, healthcare, enterprise, and international commercial transactions.
  • Advise on software licensing, SaaS, cloud services, AI-related commercial terms, and technology partnerships.

Data Privacy, Security & AI Governance

  • Provide executive oversight for privacy, data governance, and cybersecurity legal compliance programs.
  • Advise on HIPAA, sector specific and state privacy laws, international data transfer requirements, Data Privacy Framework obligations, and emerging privacy regulations.
  • Serve as a key legal advisor on artificial intelligence governance, responsible AI practices, AI-enabled products, and AI-related contractual requirements.
  • Partner with Security, Product, and Engineering teams to evaluate privacy and security risks associated with new products, services, and vendors.
  • Lead legal review of data use practices, AI applications, and regulatory developments impacting the business.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Design, implement, and oversee enterprise compliance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations applicable to healthcare, telecommunications, technology, privacy, and information security operations.
  • Manage corporate governance, subsidiary management, and regulatory filings.
  • Lead investigations, dispute resolution matters, and responses to government inquiries.
  • Oversee legal aspects of incident response, regulatory matters, and risk assessment activities.

Intellectual Property & Product Counsel

  • Oversee protection and management of trademarks, patents, intellectual property assets, and licensing matters.
  • Advise on open-source software compliance, software licensing, and technology-related legal risks.
  • Support product development initiatives by providing practical legal guidance during all stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to assess legal implications of emerging technologies and AI-enabled offerings.

Employment & Corporate Matters

  • Support organizational growth initiatives, international operations, and business expansion efforts.
  • Manage outside counsel and legal service providers efficiently while controlling legal spending.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the existing three-person legal team, consisting of two paralegals and a Senior Corporate Counsel.  Make recommendations for expanding legal team to meet growing business needs.
  • Champion the responsible use of artificial intelligence within the legal function to improve efficiency, quality, risk management, and business responsiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that leverage automation, data, and AI to scale the legal function while maintaining high standards of legal judgment and professional responsibility.


Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 15+ years of progressive legal experience with significant responsibility advising technology-driven businesses.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in-house counsel experience handling complex corporate, commercial, software technology, data privacy,  and healthcare, legal and regulatory matters.
  • Minimum 5 years of in-house counsel experience leading a legal team within software technology company, preferably SaaS.
  • Demonstrated experience directly leading, developing, and holding accountable an in-house legal team, including senior attorneys and paralegals.
  • Demonstrated experience leading legal strategy and advising executive leadership teams.
  • Deep experience drafting, negotiating, and managing complex commercial and technology agreements.
  • Significant expertise in data privacy, cybersecurity, information governance, and regulatory compliance, including HIPAA and U.S. privacy laws.
  • Proven experience advising organizations on artificial intelligence (AI) governance, AI-related legal risks, emerging AI regulations, and responsible AI practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging technology, automation, and artificial intelligence to improve legal service delivery, operational efficiency, and risk management within a corporate legal department or law firm environment.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and other corporate transactions.
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property, software licensing, and technology law.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), CIPM, or similar privacy certification.
  • 2+ years working in a large law firm.
  • Experience overseeing compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience advising private-equity-backed organizations and navigating rapid growth environments.
  • Experience supporting international business operations and cross-border data transfers.
  • Track record of building and mentoring in-house legal teams.


Compensation Range: $275,000 - $375,000

Range can flux dependent on experience, education/training, etc.
