AI Summary

The Territory Manager will lead regional growth by executing strategic call plans and providing hands-on technical solutions to heavy industrial end users. They are responsible for managing distributor networks, conducting product training, and documenting measurable cost-savings for clients.

Staffinity is currently seeking a permanent, full-time Territory Manager (Technical Industrial Sales) covering Northern Ontario and Manitoba.

Our client is an established global manufacturer of heavy industrial mechanical components and reliability solutions. In this home-based field role, you will lead territory growth, support established industrial distribution networks, and deliver hands-on technical solutions directly to heavy industrial end users (including steel mills, primary metals, and mining operations).

This role involves approximately 16 to 20 weeks of regional travel per year. Candidates may reside anywhere centrally located within Northern Ontario or Manitoba.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a technically astute sales professional or a mechanically minded tradesperson (e.g., licensed Millwright, Mechanical Technician, or Engineer) who understands the realities of plant operations, predictive maintenance, and industrial machinery. You excel at building strong relationships with distributor sales reps and plant maintenance teams, diagnosing mechanical failure modes, and demonstrating clear operational cost-savings value.

Responsibilities

  • Territory Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute strategic call plans to expand market share across regional industrial distributors, target OEM accounts, and key end-user facilities.

  • Technical Consultation: Partner with regional engineering and field service teams to provide hands-on technical assistance, product training, failure analysis, and plant reliability improvements.

  • Value-Added Cost Savings: Document and present measurable Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reductions, reliability enhancements, and operational cost savings to customer stakeholders.

  • Channel Management: Train, motivate, and co-travel with authorized distributor sales reps to identify, pursue, and close high-value conversion opportunities.

  • Inventory & Account Management: Oversee critical spare-parts inventory levels for strategic accounts and provide periodic product demand forecasts.

  • Pipeline Tracking: Maintain daily sales activities, opportunity tracking, call reports, and customer records using CRM software.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitive activity, emerging industry trends, and local market developments across the territory.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of technical field sales experience selling engineered mechanical components, heavy industrial wear parts, power transmission, or related rotating equipment through industrial distribution networks and/or OEMs.

  • Technical Background: Prior hands-on mechanical experience or credentials (Millwright, Mechanical Engineering, or Heavy Industrial Plant Maintenance) with direct familiarity in steel mills, primary metals, or mining operations is strongly preferred.

  • CRM Savvy: Proficient in maintaining pipeline data, forecasting, and activity tracking within CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).

  • Territory & Travel Readiness: Willing and able to travel roughly 16 to 20 weeks per year across Northern Ontario and Manitoba.

  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.

  • Location: Must reside within Manitoba or Northern Ontario.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $95,000 – $120,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

  • Incentive Plan: Annual performance bonus program + milestone incentives (Realistic total target cash: $130,000 – $150,000+)

  • Paid Time Off: 3–4 weeks of paid vacation

  • Field Package: Company vehicle, corporate expense card, laptop, mobile phone, and home internet coverage

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and life insurance benefits program
