AI Summary

The Telemedicine Care Coordinator schedules virtual psychiatric appointments by coordinating with hospital staff and on-call clinicians. They also provide basic technical support and maintain scheduling software to ensure seamless patient care.

This is a fantastic full-time, remote opportunity. The shift schedule for this position is Wednesday-Sunday, 10:45 PM – 7:45 AM Central Time.

Who You Are

You are a customer-service natural with the EQ to prove it. You're able to swiftly schedule multiple patients an hour, provide basic technical support, and do so in a way that brightens people's day. You take our mission personally and relish being on the front lines and getting people the care they need, when they need it. In fact, white-glove service doesn't even begin to describe what you bring to the table.

Why This Role Matters

The Telemedicine Care Coordinator is often the first voice a hospital staff member hears when they need to get a patient in front of a psychiatric clinician, and how quickly and smoothly that happens can make all the difference for someone in crisis. By keeping scheduling running seamlessly, you help make sure psychiatric care is available at partner hospitals around the clock, not just during standard business hours. Your work behind the scenes is what allows Iris Telehealth to deliver on our promise of timely, high-quality telepsychiatry to the communities we serve.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Telemedicine Care Coordinator, you will schedule patients for virtual visits by coordinating with our partner's various hospital staff. You'll gain experience working with psychiatric clinicians and using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Call hospital staff to schedule new and follow-up video appointments/consults

  • Answer all incoming calls, using hold as needed when multiple calls come in at once

  • Communicate schedule to the on-call clinician via text message

  • Maintain scheduling software while making minimal errors

  • Use a friendly, helpful and welcoming manner on all calls

  • Demonstrate resourcefulness with planning and implementing the coordination of patient care

  • Provide basic technical support to hospital staff as needed

  • Other tasks as needed

What Success Looks Like

Within 3 months:

You've mastered the scheduling software and EMR systems, are managing your nightly call volume with minimal errors, and have built a working rapport with the on-call clinicians and hospital staff you support each shift.

Within 6 months:

You're troubleshooting basic technical issues independently, anticipating scheduling conflicts before they become problems, and are a steady, reliable presence on the overnight shift.

Within 12 months:

You've become a trusted go-to resource for your hospital partners, consistently deliver white-glove service under pressure, and help identify ways to improve the coordination process for the team.

What You’ll Bring

You might be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • 1-2 years of customer service, reception, or call center experience; however, demonstrated skills, behaviors, and readiness to take ownership matter more to us than a specific number of years.

  • Experience using communication software

  • A demonstrated interest in the healthcare field, customer service, or call center work

  • A proven track record in customer service

  • The ability to work with minimal supervision

  • The ability to multitask with multiple software (i.e. Appointments Plus, Phone, Glip, Teams, video conferencing software, and EMRs)

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and able to maintain a friendly feel-good personality

  • Excellent decision-making, communication, and organizational skills

  • The ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy, ever-changing environment

  • Technical proficiency with EMR or other healthcare software experience (preferred)

  • A background in healthcare (preferred)
