Technical Account Manager, Advanced Materials
Technical Account Manager for the Advanced Materials Business Unit. Covering the West Coast territory, the candidate must be located in California, this is a fully remote role.
This role will be responible for managing accounts using thermosets, experience with resins (epoxy, polyurethanes, etc.) is a must.

IMCD is a leading company in sales, marketing and distribution of specialty chemicals and food ingredients. We represent major global producers, and our corporate headquarters are in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Technical Account Manager.The Technical Account Manager has a dynamic and challenging role and plays an important part in IMCD’s objective to grow earnings for our strategic principals.
Successful candidates will be responsible to:
Proficiency of the sales cycle from manufacturing stage to the delivery and customer satisfaction stage
Develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business
Continue to adopt and utilize important tools in our digitalization journey
Assist in establishing relationships and creating an environment to defend and preserve existing sales
Identifies new market opportunities as well as target builds; seeks out competitive & market information
Establishes and maintains processes that ensure accurate budget and forecast information for the business
Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel.
Conduct frequent account planned visits, interacting on a recurrent basis with key customers
Research and understand your target market and key economic conditions / issues at major accounts
Work closely with sales support, supply chain, customer service, etc.
Formulate, monitor and improve selling plans and all sales-related activities, in alignment with the strategic imperatives of the business
Attending trainings for suppliers, IMCD and sales meetings
Consistent use of Salesforce.com for maintaining up to date customer interaction and pipeline management
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or General Sciences preferred
Five years of sales experience in the chemical or related industry
Experience in Thermosets
Desired Qualifications:
Formulation and/or formula production experience is a plus
Experience in Plastic, Rubber, or Composite markets preferred

Work Environment
This job currently operates in a remote work environment.
Salary Range
$125,000 - $150,000
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise directed. Additional hours may be required as needed.
Travel
Travel required, around 40%.
