The Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will observe and assist educational staff in adapting instructional strategies for students with hearing loss. They will also provide direct instruction and act as a liaison between schools and community services.
JOB DESCRIPTION
An individual in this position shall observe, consult with, and assist special and regular education staff as they adapt classroom instructional strategies to accommodate students with varying degrees of hearing loss. The TOD shall also provide direct instruction and serve as a liaison between the school and various community agencies and professionals that provide services to deaf and hard of hearing children and their families.
EDUCATION
Educational requirements - Master’s degree
Professional requirements - Licensed in the state of Vermont as a teacher, with specialized training in working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing (Special Education, TOD endorsement or provisional endorsement).
EXPERIENCE
Three years’ experience preferred
