Overview:

Talent Acquisition Specialist (Flex Position)

This is a flex position with no benefits. This role is designed to provide recruiting coverage across the Talent Acquisition team during planned and unplanned absences, including paid time off, medical leave, and long-term disability coverage. The position offers an opportunity to support a variety of business units and recruitment functions while delivering a seamless experience for hiring leaders and candidates.

Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist partners with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand workforce needs, anticipate hiring demands, and develop strategic recruiting solutions. This role manages the full recruitment lifecycle for assigned positions, with a strong focus on sourcing, candidate engagement, and delivering high-quality talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for positions across assigned business areas.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to identify current and future hiring needs.
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to attract diverse, high-quality candidates.
  • Utilize proactive sourcing techniques and new talent channels to build candidate pipelines.
  • Screen, interview, assess, and recommend candidates for employment opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring leaders throughout the recruitment process.
  • Support workforce planning efforts, recruitment strategy development, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead or participate in talent acquisition projects as assigned.
  • Effectively manage a high-volume workload and hard-to-fill positions while maintaining an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Attend recruitment events and represent Sentara at talent attraction initiatives across Virginia and North Carolina.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

Experience

  • Two (2) years of Human Resources experience with a bachelor’s degree, or four (4) years of equivalent experience with a High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of recruiting experience strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare recruiting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting high-volume recruitment and hard-to-fill positions preferred.
  • Demonstrated sourcing experience required.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel and participate in recruitment and Talent Acquisition events throughout Virginia and North Carolina.
  • Flexibility to support a variety of recruitment functions and business units based on organizational needs.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $68,598.40 - $103,396.80 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
