This September the UN stopped hedging: the world will overshoot 1.5°C of warming, and carbon removal, alongside deep emissions cuts, is essential to coming back. The math is stark. The world needs to remove roughly 10 billion tonnes of CO₂ a year by 2050, and all the permanent removal ever delivered adds up to fewer than 2 million tonnes, less than a single day of that future run rate. An industry Swiss Re calls the next trillion-dollar market has to be built from scratch in under three decades.
Supercritical exists to build it. Our mission: scale carbon removal to gigatonnes by building the connective infrastructure for the market. As the #1 carbon removal marketplace we source, create, and guarantee permanent supply for the world’s most demanding buyers. Nearly 2 million tonnes facilitated for 200+ corporate buyers. A science team that helps set the SBTi standards the market will be measured against. More than 300,000 tonnes delivered and retired with zero missed retirements, and the largest biochar offtake in US history, 1 million tonnes over 10 years, created for Microsoft.
Carbon removal is not carbon avoidance. A carbon removal credit is one tonne of CO₂ physically taken out of the atmosphere and stored permanently. One tonne emitted plus one tonne removed equals net zero; no other route produces a credible claim. And demand is no longer voluntary goodwill: SBTi’s Net-Zero Standard now sets interim removal targets on the path to net zero, disclosure rules are switching on across major markets, and the AI economy is already buying, with Google, Amazon, Stripe, and Anthropic all purchasing carbon removal and Microsoft behind the largest biochar offtake in history. This market gets built in the next three decades, by the people who show up early.
Our suppliers are at the heart of what we offer the world's most demanding carbon removal buyers. As Supply Account Manager, you'll own Supercritical's relationships with every supplier across the world once they’ve contracted with us: our exclusive and non-exclusive projects, the suppliers behind the offtakes and deals we've sold, and the early-stage projects moving through our Supply Development Programme.
This is a stakeholder management role, inside and outside the business. You'll onboard each supplier and be their point of contact through development, delivery, review and renewal, building relationships strong enough to handle every conversation, from a new deal to a missed milestone. You'll run the regular rhythm, from check-ins to QBRs, know each project inside out, and coordinate our supply, sales, marketing and climate science teams so both sides deliver.
You'll also keep us on top of our commitments. You'll be accountable for delivery against contracted milestones, own credit retirement end to end, and maintain each supplier's risk and compliance record so sales always knows what's ready to allocate. When something slips, you'll be the first to know and will make sure the right people hear about it fast. HubSpot is our single source of truth, and you'll help shape the automated workflows that keep routine updates moving, so your time goes on the relationships that matter most.
Requirements
Experienced account manager. You have a proven account management background (3-5 years as an Account Manager), including managing international stakeholders and projects across different countries and time zones. You hold your own with senior stakeholders, whether the news is good or bad. People trust you because you're direct and you follow through.
Systems thinker. You've set up CRM processes and automated workflows before (HubSpot experience is a plus), and you instinctively look for ways to make a process run without you having to chase it.
Commercially sharp. You're comfortable talking pipeline, contracts and delivery, and you can build a clear, data-backed case for why a supplier should keep growing with us.
Organised. You're highly organised with impeccable attention to detail. You can hold a portfolio of accounts, contract terms and delivery dates in your head at once, and you spot problems before they land.
Start-up experience. You've worked in a start-up or scale-up and you know what that means day to day. This role is still taking shape, you ramp up quickly, and you enjoy defining how things should be done rather than inheriting a playbook.
Experience in carbon removal, climate, agriculture or commodity supply chains is a bonus, not a requirement.
Most of all, you’re excited to work on the world’s most important problem with a friendly and motivated team.
We have set ourselves the mission of leading the carbon removal market to 14,000x its current size by 2050. In order to do that we need brave adventurers that think huge and deliver at speed. We call this the 14,000x mindset. The key components of the 14,000x mindset are:
● Ownership mentality: We relish autonomy and we create it for others. We are deeply curious and thrive on understanding the root cause of complex problems. We take ownership over our own and our team’s development by giving and soliciting direct and actionable feedback.
● Move fast: We identify the most important problems to solve and cut everything else. We test ideas early so we don’t waste time on dead ends. We default to action and deliver awesome results.
● Radiate positive energy: We come to problems with energy and passion. We nurture new ideas and engage positively in testing them. We inspire our colleagues to go further and are resilient to setbacks. We recharge by taking time off. We are here for a great day, not a long day.
● Communicate proactively: We communicate simply and directly. We broadcast updates, insights and lessons learned, especially when things haven’t gone to plan. We give as much context as possible so our teammates can make great decisions.
