Student Affairs Advisors work with enrolled ITA students seeking to teach English abroad and online. See below for an outline of the responsibilities.

Compensation: $50K per year, benefits, 20 days paid time off & more (see below).

Work Hours: 40 hours a week. Monday - Friday: 9:00 - 5:30 Central Time

Start Date: October 14 or ASAP

The Team You Will Join: ITA has 28 full-time staff members and 21 part-time Instructors living around the US.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Student Support & Case Management:
    • Serve on a team of advisors supporting enrolled students, answering questions via phone and email.
    • Guide students through course transfers, refunds, and enrollment-related processes.
    • Keep detailed records of student cases and ensure requests are handled efficiently and accurately.
    • Help students with international job searches, including contract reviews, along with resume and cover letter guidance.
    • Provide expert advice on TEFL job markets, recruiters, hiring seasons, and visa procedures.
    • Identify and troubleshoot student concerns, offering timely solutions.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Proactively communicate with students and colleagues to provide updates and support.
    • Keep the ITA team informed about trends in global teaching markets.
    • Build a collaborative virtual team environment by engaging with fellow advisors and staff.
    • Speak confidently with students and lead discussions when needed.
    • Demonstrate accountability & integrity in communications and interactions.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation:
    • Manage multiple student cases efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail.
    • Use creative problem-solving to improve student support services and processes.
    • Take ownership of your responsibilities and ensure high-quality service delivery.
    • Stay self-motivated and continuously seek opportunities for professional growth.
  • Technical & Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Stay updated on global teaching markets and keep ITA's internal resources current.
    • Ensure compliance with ITA policies when assisting students.
    • Utilize Google Suite, Salesforce, and other tools to manage student interactions.
    • Support team projects as needed.
  • More duties as needed and requested.

What You Bring to the Role:

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • Education & Travel Experience: Minimum 6 continuous months living and teaching abroad.
  • Administrative Experience: 1+ years of administrative or office operations experience.
  • Customer Support: 1+ years of direct customer service or client-facing support experience.
  • Remote Work Capability: Demonstrated ability to manage time independently and handle asynchronous workflows in a fully remote environment.
  • Tool Proficiency: Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

  • TEFL/TESOL certification.
  • Background in student services, study abroad administration, or international education.
  • Experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) or Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle).
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to groups or leading virtual student discussions.
