Physician Enterprise Healthcare Consultant – Revenue Cycle and Dental Care

Job Overview

Impact Advisors is seeking an experienced Physician Enterprise Healthcare Consultant with expertise in revenue cycle management and dental care to lead client-facing assessment, transformation, and implementation work. This consultant will partner with physician enterprise and dental service organization leaders to strengthen financial performance, standardize operations across multiple locations, improve the patient financial experience, and build sustainable capabilities across the front, middle, and back end of the revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Engagement Leadership: Lead client workstreams from current-state assessment and opportunity sizing through workflow redesign, implementation, and performance sustainment.
  • Revenue Cycle Optimization: Assess and improve patient access, eligibility and benefits verification, prior authorization, treatment estimates, point-of-service collections, charge capture, coding, claims submission, payment posting, denial management, underpayment recovery, accounts receivable follow-up, refunds, and patient billing.
  • Dental and DSO Operations: Standardize scalable revenue cycle processes across multi-site dental practices and support accurate capture of preventive, restorative, surgical, orthodontic, and other specialty dental services.
  • Financial Performance: Analyze revenue leakage and drive measurable improvements in net and gross collection rates, clean claim rate, days in accounts receivable, accounts receivable over 90 days, denial and write-off rates, appeal success, cash acceleration, and cost to collect.
  • Dental Billing and Compliance: Apply knowledge of Current Dental Terminology coding, dental documentation, payer-specific billing rules, coordination of benefits, pre-authorizations, preferred provider organization plans, Medicaid, fee-for-service reimbursement, and specialty billing requirements.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Develop dashboards, benchmarks, root-cause analyses, business cases, executive presentations, implementation roadmaps, and performance monitoring routines that translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Technology Enablement: Evaluate and optimize dental and medical practice management systems, revenue cycle technologies, automation, and reporting tools to support standardized workflows and reliable data.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with executives, providers, operations, finance, clinical, credentialing, payer relations, information technology, and frontline teams to align priorities and implement sustainable change.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, health information management, or a related field required; Master of Healthcare Administration, Master of Business Administration, or a related advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Progressive healthcare revenue cycle, physician enterprise, dental group, or consulting experience. Experience in a dental service organization, multi-site dental group, or scaled ambulatory environment is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred Consulting Background: Demonstrated experience leading complex assessments, operational improvement initiatives, or technology-enabled transformations in client-facing or cross-functional environments.
  • Preferred Certifications: Healthcare Financial Management Association, American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management, Certified Revenue Cycle Representative, Certified Professional Coder, dental coding, Lean Six Sigma, or project management credentials are preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Revenue Cycle Expertise: Deep knowledge of front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end workflows in physician enterprise and dental settings.
  • Dental Acumen: Working knowledge of Current Dental Terminology coding, dental claims, treatment plan estimates, coordination of benefits, payer workflows, and reimbursement nuances across general and specialty dentistry.
  • Analytics: Advanced ability to interpret financial and operational data, identify root causes, quantify opportunities, and monitor results through meaningful key performance indicators.
  • Process Improvement: Strong skills in workflow assessment, standardization, operating model design, implementation planning, change management, and continuous improvement.
  • Client Leadership: Ability to build trusted relationships, facilitate executive and frontline discussions, manage multiple priorities, and lead cross-functional teams in complex environments.
  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to create polished, executive-ready deliverables.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, learning new systems quickly, and balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Additional Information

  • Travel: This role requires intermittent travel to client sites, averaging approximately 80% based on engagement needs. Candidates must be comfortable with a weekly travel schedule and working across multiple time zones.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, exempt, and remote-friendly when not traveling, with flexibility based on client and project demands.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States.

At Impact Advisors, we are committed to transparency and equity in our compensation practices. The compensation for this role includes a salary range of $125,000 to $210,000. For salaried positions, this role may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus. Additional benefits and perks may also be available, depending on the position and employment terms.

This range reflects consideration of several factors, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
