The Strategic Advisor will bridge the gap between technical software implementations and commercial business goals for CPG clients. Responsibilities include managing market connects, training super-users, and facilitating commercial business sprints to drive profitable revenue growth.
About XTEL
XTEL is a leader in advanced, AI-driven solutions for consumer goods companies, combining cutting- edge technology, industry expertise, and data management to accelerate profitable revenue growth and value realization.
XTEL is launching X-Steps: a dedicated global Business Consulting Department that embeds business expertise directly into every client engagement alongside our technical implementation teams. Inspired by the proven StepUp methodology, X-Steps focuses exclusively on commercial value creation. We bridge the gap between technical software implementations and real commercial impact for top-tier CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) clients (such as Barilla, Nomad Foods, Agthia, and Mondelēz).
Traditionally specialized in Revenue Growth Management (RGM) analytics, X-Steps is expanding its consulting expertise to fully encompass Trade Promotion Management (TPM). We empower Sales, Trade Marketing, Category Management, and RGM teams to transform software deployment into measurable commercial growth, ROI, and optimized promotional strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Need Discovery & Translation: Understand broad CPG business goals in RGM and TPM (pricing, trade terms, promotional ROI, assortment) and translate them into specific platform requirements.
Market Connect & Kickoff: Run parallel market connect sessions during project kick-offs, grounding software setup in the client’s actual commercial strategy and KPIs.
Internal Gatekeeper & Sparring Partner: Act as the internal client for the technical implementation team, challenging deployments to ensure they are pragmatic, relevant, and aligned with user needs.
Super-User Enablement & Training: Deliver hands-on training anchored in the client's own market data, building a library of client-specific "business recipes" to ensure end-users can independently run and interpret analytical use cases.
Value Extraction & Sprints: Facilitate commercial business sprints, guiding clients from their first analytical run to full profitable revenue growth and long-term value-realization glide paths.
Qualifications
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in business consulting, category management, trade marketing, RGM, TPM, or commercial analytics within CPG or software advisory.
Role Focus: Driving day-to-day execution of the 4 engagement phases (Market Connect, Data Review/UAT, Super-User Training, and Value Extraction workshops). Serving as the primary operational bridge between client business teams and technical leads.
Analytical problem solver with excellent facilitation and training skills.
Comfortable handling client data, challenging technical setups, and translating software outputs into actionable commercial insights.
Strong understanding of CPG commercial dynamics, pricing, promotions, and category management.
