Work Location

 

This is a fully remote/work from home role where you will spend up to 50% of your time in the field, servicing the Iowa, Kansas, and Arizona territory. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events.

Are you a relationship-driven sales leader with a passion for agency development and team leadership? West Bend is seeking a State Sales Manager to drive profitable growth across Iowa, Kansas, and Arizona while leading a team of Regional Sales Managers.

 

In this role, you'll partner with independent agencies to identify strategic growth opportunities, strengthen relationships, and support business development efforts. You'll also coach and develop your sales team, collaborate with underwriting and internal partners, and help execute strategies that advance territory performance and long-term growth.

 

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute territory sales strategies that support company growth objectives.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with independent agency partners.
  • Manage agency appointments, performance, profitability, and growth opportunities.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a team of Regional Sales Managers to achieve sales goals.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators, adjusting strategies as needed to deliver results.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and other business partners to support agency success.
  • Lead agency meetings, training programs, and development initiatives.
  • Provide strategic market insights and direction to drive profitable territory growth.

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years of property and casualty insurance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success developing and executing sales strategies that deliver measurable results.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products, agency distribution, and market dynamics.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into action.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Teams, Dynamics, SharePoint, and Power BI.
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field.
  • CIC or CPCU designation required.
  • Additional industry certifications or advanced degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Insurance agent's license preferred.

Salary Statement

The salary range for this position is $110,000-$140,000.   

  

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
