About the Role
The ideal candidate will reside in California or in the Southwest United States.
The Senior Improvement Advisor – American Indian & Alaska Native (AIAN) – Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) provides advanced consultation, technical assistance, education, and project leadership to healthcare organizations serving American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) communities.
Working collaboratively with healthcare leaders and community partners, the Senior Improvement Advisor applies quality improvement, implementation science, and public health principles to support sustainable healthcare transformation while honoring the unique strengths, priorities, and cultures of AIAN communities.
What You'll Do
Partner with American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) healthcare organizations, Tribal health departments, and community partners to improve healthcare quality and patient outcomes.
Lead quality improvement and health system transformation initiatives that address the unique needs of AIAN populations.
Design and facilitate learning collaboratives, trainings, and technical assistance for Tribal healthcare partners and other healthcare organizations.
Build trusted relationships with Tribal leaders, healthcare providers, professional associations, and community organizations.
Lead project planning, implementation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across multiple quality improvement initiatives.
Mentor colleagues while serving as a subject matter expert on healthcare transformation and quality improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Master's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
7+ years of experience in healthcare, quality improvement, health system transformation, population health, care delivery redesign, public health, or a related field.
Preferred
American Indian and Alaska Native Tribal healthcare experience.
2+ years of experience leading project-based work, including project planning, execution, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
Work Environment & Travel
This is a fully remote position requiring reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated home workspace.
Travel is an important part of this role. Occasional to moderate travel, primarily throughout California and the Southwest, is required to visit Tribal health clinics, hospitals, and nursing homes to provide onsite training, technical assistance, relationship building, and quality improvement support. Additional travel may include conferences, meetings, and collaborative events.
