Solution Engineer (ServiceNow/Armis) - Texas

This is a remote position.

The ServiceNow and Armis Solution Engineer supports the deployment, configuration, integration, testing, and optimization of Armis and ServiceNow security solutions for enterprise clients. The engineer assists with Armis platform deployments, asset discovery, collector placement, policy and dashboard configuration, ServiceNow integrations, workflow automation, reporting, documentation, troubleshooting, and client training.

The Solution Engineer works directly with client security, infrastructure, operational technology, risk, and ServiceNow teams to connect Armis asset intelligence with ServiceNow capabilities, including USEM and ServiceNow Otto. These solutions improve asset visibility, exposure management, vulnerability prioritization, security operations, and remediation workflows.

This is a client-facing delivery role that requires developing ServiceNow and Armis technical expertise, practical knowledge of asset intelligence and cybersecurity operations, and the ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders. The Solution Engineer may also support solution demonstrations, estimates, proposals, and other activities that contribute to the continued growth of Templar Shield’s ServiceNow and Armis practice.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

Armis Deployment and Configuration

•  Support the planning, installation, configuration, validation, and ongoing support of Armis deployments.
  

• Assist with site surveys, deployment documentation, collector placement, connectivity validation, and network troubleshooting.
  
• Configure Armis platform settings, asset classifications, dashboards, reports, policies, alerting logic, exposure views, and use-case-specific workflows.
  
• Validate asset discovery, classification, enrichment, and coverage across information technology, operational technology, Internet of Things, Internet of Medical Things, cloud, and other connected environments.
  
• Tune Armis configurations to improve asset context, reduce unnecessary alerts, and support defined security and operational outcomes.
  
• Troubleshoot issues involving collectors, network connectivity, data collection, asset visibility, classifications, policies, dashboards, and platform integrations.
  

ServiceNow Integration and Automation

• Configure integrations between Armis, ServiceNow, and other third-party security and enterprise platforms.
  

• Map Armis asset intelligence to appropriate ServiceNow data models, configuration item classes, ownership models, reconciliation processes, and security workflows.
  
• Support the implementation and configuration of ServiceNow capabilities, including USEM and ServiceNow Otto, that use Armis data to improve asset visibility, exposure management, vulnerability prioritization, and remediation.
  
• Support Armis-related integrations and use cases across ServiceNow CMDB, ITSM, ITOM, Security Operations, Vulnerability Response, Security Incident Response, and Integrated Risk Management.
  
• Configure ServiceNow workflows, forms, dashboards, reports, notifications, business rules, scripts, and automation for Armis-related use cases.
  
• Enhance automation and orchestration using ServiceNow Flow Designer, Integration Hub, APIs, and other platform capabilities.
  
• Support data normalization, identification, reconciliation, enrichment, and quality-validation activities.
  
• Develop scripts and controlled platform extensions when requirements cannot be met through out-of-the-box configuration.
  
• Follow Templar Shield and ServiceNow development standards to ensure solutions remain scalable, maintainable, supportable, and upgradeable.
  

Testing Documentation and Delivery

• Participate in client discovery sessions, requirements workshops, design discussions, and technical reviews.
  
• Translate approved requirements into implementation tasks, configuration activities, test cases, and supporting documentation.
  
• Develop and execute unit, system, integration, regression, and deployment-validation testing.
  
• Document test plans, test results, defects, remediation activities, deployment procedures, and solution acceptance criteria.
  
• Support user acceptance testing, production deployments, stabilization activities, and post-production support.
  
• Produce and maintain deployment diagrams, configuration documents, integration specifications, operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, knowledge articles, and training materials.
  
• Follow established Software Development Lifecycle and Agile practices to ensure technical activities are documented, coordinated, reviewed, and controlled.
  
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, defects, and scope concerns and communicate them promptly to project leadership.
  

Client & Practice Support

The Solution Engineer supports Templar Shield’s Practice Leads and Architects by contributing technical expertise to business-development activities and practice growth

• Build effective working relationships with client and Templar Shield technical teams.
  
• Communicate technical issues, implementation decisions, and recommendations clearly to business and technical stakeholders.
  
• Assist with solution demonstrations, knowledge-transfer sessions, client training, estimates, and proposals.
  
• Stay current with Armis capabilities, ServiceNow platform enhancements, and relevant cybersecurity practices.
  
• Contribute to reusable technical documentation, implementation templates, and other practice materials as assigned.
  

Technical Knowledge and Skills:  

• Knowledge of enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, proxies, segmentation, SPAN/TAP concepts, and network troubleshooting.
  
• Understanding Armis deployment and configuration concepts, including collectors, asset discovery, classification, policies, dashboards, alerting, and exposure workflows.
  
• Familiarity with ServiceNow CMDB and CSDM concepts, including configuration item classes, identification, reconciliation, data quality, ownership, and asset normalization.
  
• Experience configuring ServiceNow workflows, forms, reports, dashboards, notifications, business rules, scripts, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
  
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity operations, vulnerability and exposure management, asset management, SIEM, SOAR, and incident-response processes.
  
• Experience with APIs and integrations, including REST, JSON, authentication, certificates, SSL/TLS, and basic JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell scripting.
  
• Basic troubleshooting skills, including command-line tools, log review, connectivity testing, and certificate troubleshooting.
  
• Ability to develop technical documentation, execute test plans, manage defects, support deployments, and troubleshoot integrated platform solutions.
  

Qualifications:

·        One to three years of experience in implementation engineering, professional services, cybersecurity consulting, security engineering, network engineering, infrastructure engineering, ServiceNow delivery, or a related technical role.

·        At least one year of experience working with ServiceNow, Armis, or a comparable enterprise security, asset-management, vulnerability-management, or security-operations platform.

·        Hands-on experience supporting technical implementations, platform configurations, integrations, testing, troubleshooting, or production deployments.

·        Working knowledge of enterprise networking, cybersecurity operations, asset management, vulnerability management, and incident-response processes.

·        Experience with APIs and integration technologies, including REST, JSON, authentication, certificates, and SSL/TLS.

·        Familiarity with virtual appliances, collector deployment, log review, connectivity testing, certificate management, and basic infrastructure troubleshooting.

·        Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·        Ability to manage multiple assignments, document decisions, follow established delivery processes, and drive assigned tasks to completion.

·        Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

·        Willingness to travel up to 50 percent based on client and project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Hands-on experience with Armis Centrix, including collector deployment, asset discovery, classification, policies, dashboards, alerting, exposure workflows, or ServiceNow integrations.

·        Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, CSDM, Service Graph Connectors, ITSM, ITOM, Security Operations, Vulnerability Response, Security Incident Response, or Integrated Risk Management.

·        Experience working with operational technology, Internet of Things, Internet of Medical Things, healthcare, manufacturing, utilities, energy, transportation, telecommunications, or other critical-infrastructure environments.

·        Understanding CMDB data quality, configuration item reconciliation, asset normalization, ownership models, and operational governance.

·        Experience supporting regulated environments with formal change controls, audit requirements, security documentation, and operational constraints.

·        Basic Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.

·        ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, ServiceNow Certified Application Developer, relevant ServiceNow implementation certifications, or Armis training or accreditation.

·        Cybersecurity or networking certifications such as Security+, GICSP, CCNA, or comparable credentials.
