Software Engineer II

Your job

You’ll build thoughtful, high-impact experiences that help businesses and reps understand and act on opportunities to get better hiring results. This is a full-stack engineering role with a strong front-end focus: you’ll create intuitive, polished user interfaces while also working across APIs, services, and the systems that power them.

You’ll partner closely with product managers, designers, data teams, and other engineers to take work from idea to launch. The work is varied and fast-moving, so you should enjoy context-switching between projects, solving ambiguous problems, and balancing user experience details with dependable technical delivery.

Who you are

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance software systems
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design, validating solutions through data and experimentation where appropriate
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high engineering standards
• Own and support applications during business hours, ensuring system health and reliability
• Use metrics, logging, and analytics to make data-informed decisions and improve system performance
• Collaborate closely with partners across engineering, product, data science, and design to deliver solutions
• Contribute to cross-team initiatives and support the growth of other engineers through mentorship and knowledge sharing

Who we are

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience
• Proficiency in one or more modern backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, or similar).
• Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance, and resilient systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, and experience. The range(s) listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), a Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits. Compensation may also vary based on where a role is performed, as work locations are grouped into geographic pay tiers to reflect cost of labor differences in different geographic markets.
