Blackcart is a venture-backed, mission-driven team that enables brands from around the world to drastically improve the way their customers shop online. Blackcart’s product is a try-before-you-buy platform that integrates into ecommerce stores, and enables customers to choose products, get it shipped to try at home for free, and only pay for what they keep.

Stores don't make you pay before trying their products, so why should it work that way online? Unfortunately that’s how ecommerce works today, and it's been our mission at Blackcart to change that. Blackcart’s mission is to provide the best online shopping experience for customers, while enabling merchants to convert more visitors to customers. We’ve all experienced uncertainty while shopping online that has led us to abandon a purchase, and it’s a problem that affects every online shopper and merchant.

As a Software Engineer, you’ll report to our CTO and lead technical customer implementation and development of new features for our merchants and consumers. Your work will directly impact tens of thousands customers (and rapidly growing). You will help contribute to and cultivate a strong engineering culture which is critical for the future success of Blackcart.

  • Build, test, and ship end-to-end features to our growing base of customers at a rapid cadence
  • Participate in technical design discussions and execute on technical decisions
  • Uphold standards for quality by performing code reviews, fixing bugs, creating automated tests, and monitoring performance
  • Promote and adhere to the workplace values of Blackcart (walk in the customer's shoes, speak the truth, care for people, benchmark against the best, run headfirst into hard problems, extreme ownership)
