Koniag Professional Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced SharePoint & Power Platform Solutions Engineer to support the design, development, administration, and operational support of enterprise collaboration solutions built on Microsoft 365 technologies. This role serves as a key technical resource supporting the full lifecycle of business applications—from requirements analysis and solution development through deployment, production support, maintenance, and continuous enhancement—within an ITIL-based Operations and Maintenance (O&M) environment.
The ideal candidate is a technically proficient and operationally experienced engineer who brings deep expertise in SharePoint Online administration and Power Platform development, combined with a strong commitment to operational excellence, security compliance, and continuous service improvement. This individual must thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced federal IT environment and possess the ability to balance new solution development with the sustained support of an existing enterprise application portfolio.
The SharePoint & Power Platform Solutions Engineer is responsible for the design, development, administration, and operational support of enterprise collaboration solutions built on Microsoft 365 technologies, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Power Platform, and related services. Working within an ITIL-based O&M environment, this individual develops new Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and SharePoint solutions while sustaining an existing portfolio of enterprise applications. The engineer collaborates with business stakeholders, project teams, cybersecurity personnel, and infrastructure engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable Microsoft 365 solutions that support mission objectives.
Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise solutions using SharePoint Online and the Microsoft Power Platform, ensuring all solutions meet organizational standards for security, governance, and performance.
- Develop new business applications and workflows while concurrently enhancing and sustaining an existing portfolio of production Microsoft 365 solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
- Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and governance frameworks.
- Administer SharePoint Online environments, including site architecture, permissions management, information architecture, governance policies, and lifecycle management at enterprise scale.
- Build and maintain reusable Power Platform components, automation templates, and application frameworks that promote consistency, reduce technical debt, and accelerate solution delivery.
- Package, deploy, and promote Power Platform solutions across Development, Test, and Production environments using enterprise Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) practices and tools.
- Monitor application and platform health, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to restore services within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Manage incidents, service requests, problems, releases, and changes using ITIL-based IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
- Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities by preparing implementation plans, technical impact assessments, rollback procedures, and deployment documentation for all production changes.
- Automate administrative and operational tasks using PnP PowerShell and other scripting technologies to improve efficiency, consistency, and operational resilience across the platform environment.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to maintain compliance with organizational security policies, continuous monitoring requirements, and Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation.
- Support vulnerability remediation, configuration management, audit readiness, and security compliance activities throughout the contract period.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, operational runbooks, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures to support knowledge management and continuity of operations.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to modernize processes, improve user experience, and increase platform reliability and performance.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience administering enterprise SharePoint Online environments, including demonstrated expertise with site collections, information architecture, governance, permissions management, and records management.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps Canvas Apps, Power Automate cloud flows, and Microsoft Dataverse integrations.
- Experience supporting applications throughout the full software development lifecycle, including development, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement in a production environment.
- Experience automating SharePoint administration tasks at scale using PnP PowerShell.
Preferred:
- Prior experience supporting federal government IT programs or contracts.
- Experience working within an ITIL-based O&M or managed services environment.
- Familiarity with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and federal IT security compliance requirements.

- Advanced expertise in SharePoint Online administration, including:
- Site collections, communication sites, and hub sites
- Information architecture design and governance framework implementation
- Site templates and site features configuration and management
- Navigation design and branding customization
- Content types and site columns
- Lists, document libraries, versioning, retention policies, and records management
- Advanced knowledge of SharePoint security administration, including:
- SharePoint groups and permission levels
- Permission inheritance and management of unique permissions
- External sharing controls and governance
- Site collection administration and lifecycle management
- Proficiency with PnP PowerShell for efficient, scalable SharePoint Online administration, reducing reliance on manual configuration.
Power Platform Development:
- Hands-on development experience with:
- Power Apps Canvas Apps, including responsive application design and user experience best practices
- Power Automate cloud flows, including approval workflows, scheduled automation, and event-driven automation
- SharePoint Online integration with Power Platform solutions
- Microsoft Dataverse for enterprise data modeling and application development
- Strong understanding of Power Fx, including delegation concepts, performance optimization techniques, and error handling and resiliency patterns.
- Experience supporting the full Power Platform application lifecycle, including development, ALM-based deployment across environments, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement.
General Technical and Professional Skills:
- Strong engineering mindset with the demonstrated ability to balance new solution development responsibilities with long-term operational support obligations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation in production environments.
- Ability to design solutions that are simultaneously secure, scalable, maintainable, and operationally supportable within enterprise governance frameworks.
- Experience managing ITIL-based ITSM processes, including incident management, problem management, change management, and release management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear technical documentation, operational runbooks, and architecture diagrams, and to effectively engage with both technical peers and non-technical business stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams including engineers, cybersecurity personnel, business stakeholders, and project leadership.

Desired Skills and Competencies:
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator, or equivalent Microsoft 365 platform certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Pages or Power BI as part of an integrated Power Platform solution.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services as they relate to Power Platform and SharePoint Online integrations, including Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Azure Functions, or Azure Logic Apps.
- Experience participating in Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes, including the preparation of technical impact assessments and rollback procedures.
- Familiarity with federal IT security and compliance frameworks, including NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and continuous monitoring requirements within an ATO context.
- Experience with Section 508 accessibility compliance requirements for enterprise web-based applications and digital solutions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Purview for information protection, data governance, and compliance management within a SharePoint Online environment.
- Experience with enterprise content management, records management, and information lifecycle management practices.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid Agile-Waterfall delivery methodologies as applied to platform development and O&M environments.
- ITIL Foundation certification or demonstrated equivalent experience working within an ITIL-based service management environment.
- Experience with Azure DevOps for ALM, source control, and deployment pipeline management of Power Platform solutions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 administrative automation and integration scenarios.
