We are Brooks.

Brooks is seeking a highly experienced Senior Trade Compliance Analyst (m/f/d) - EU/UK to serve as the regional trade compliance expert for European Union (EU), United Kingdom (UK), and Switzerland (CH). This role is responsible for managing import and export compliance operations, customs classification, licensing, denied party screening, sanctions compliance, customs broker management, and trade system administration across the region.

The Senior Trade Compliance Analyst will act as the primary point of contact for EU/UK trade compliance matters, partnering closely with internal stakeholders, and external customs brokers and customs authorities. This position requires strong knowledge of EU customs regulations, BAFA export controls, Switzerland trade requirements, Intrastat reporting, sanctions programs, trade automation systems and fluency in German and English.

What you will do.

  • Serve as the primary Trade Compliance point of contact for all EU, UK, and Switzerland import and export compliance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with EU, UK, Swiss, German, and applicable international trade regulations.
  • Provide trade compliance guidance to internal stakeholders and support operational teams in resolving customs, import/export, and regulatory issues while minimizing business disruption.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, government authorities, and internal and external partners.
  • Support customs audits, inquiries, and regulatory reviews conducted by customs authorities.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes impacting EU, UK, and Switzerland trade operations and implement necessary compliance controls.
  • Develop and maintain trade compliance procedures, work instructions, and internal controls.
  • Determine and maintain Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS/TARIC/Swiss Customs Tariff) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classifications for products, components, spare parts, machinery, and materials within the Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment (SME) industry, utilizing Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), engineering specifications, technical documentation, and applicable regulatory resources to ensure classification accuracy and compliance.
  • Research customs rulings and regulatory guidance to support classification decisions.
  • Resolve Oracle OTM/GTM trade compliance holds related to HTS/TARIC/CH classifications, ECCNs, country of origin, customs valuation information, end-user records, and licensing data.
  • Manage and maintain all EU, UK, German, and Swiss export licenses and authorizations, including license applications, renewals, reporting obligations, utilization monitoring, and recordkeeping to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for BAFA export control requirements and systems, administering BAFA portal activities and supporting licensing determinations.
  • Document compliance determinations and maintain auditable records.
  • Own and support Intrastat reporting activities by validating customs and trade data, coordinating with Finance, Logistics, and customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely submissions, and supporting audits and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and implement EU, UK, and Swiss sanctions and trade restriction requirements, including Russian and Belarusian sanctions programs; conduct sanctions reviews, support restricted party screening activities, evaluate transaction compliance risks, and maintain documentation supporting compliance determinations.
  • Serve as a trade compliance advisor to business stakeholders on sourcing decisions, supply chain changes, STE/TAG assessments, product classification, and export control requirements.
  • Conduct trade compliance risk assessments, identify compliance gaps and potential regulatory exposures, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.

What you will bring.

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Customs, Trade Compliance, Legal Studies, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in a multinational Trade Compliance environment, customs compliance function, consulting practice, or law firm with a focus on import/export compliance, customs classification, export controls, and sanctions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
  • Demonstrated experience determining EU, UK, and Swiss HTS/TARIC classifications and export control classifications.
  • Working knowledge of EU, UK, Swiss, and German import and BAFA export control regulations, and licensing processes.
  • Experience using trade automation systems such as Oracle OTM/GTM, SAP GTS, Descartes, GTC, or similar trade compliance platforms.
  • Experience working with customs brokers and supporting EU customs declaration and import/export operations.
  • Experience managing denied party screening and sanctions compliance reviews.
  • Experience supporting Intrastat reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience in Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment (SME), industrial manufacturing, or other highly regulated technology-driven industries is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate complex trade compliance requirements to cross-functional business stakeholders.
