Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

As a Senior Software QA Engineer, you will:

• Ensure new and existing software functionality is reliable, defect-free, and performs as intended.
  
• Create, document, verify, and execute component-level, integration, system, and user acceptance test plans and test cases.
  
• Advance and maintain test automation practices while performing manual testing when appropriate.
  
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and software development teams to understand requirements and develop comprehensive testing strategies.
  
• Participate in Agile Scrum software development lifecycle activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  
• Review business and technical requirements and identify gaps, ambiguities, inconsistencies, and testability concerns.
  
• Develop and report testing metrics, including test coverage, test confidence, defect trends, and quality indicators.
  
• Perform database validation and testing using SQL, including creating test data and verifying data integrity.
  
• Test complex multi-tier client/server applications and high-volume software workflows.
  
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to identify, document, troubleshoot, and verify software defects.
  
• Validate defect resolutions efficiently and thoroughly throughout the development lifecycle.
  
• Support both greenfield and brownfield development initiatives in a scalable, high-availability environment.
  
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level QA professionals.
  
• Act as a liaison between Engineering Management, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
  
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance software quality, testing efficiency, and team effectiveness.
  

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and testing roles.
  
• Strong experience with both White Box and Black Box testing methodologies.
  
• Proven experience developing and maintaining automated testing solutions.
  
• 3+ years of database testing experience with the ability to read, write, and execute SQL queries.
  
• Experience creating and managing test data for database-driven applications.
  
• 3+ years of experience working within an Agile software development lifecycle.
  
• 3+ years of experience testing multi-tier client/server applications.
  
• Strong understanding of software development frameworks, architecture concepts, and engineering terminology.
  
• Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio Team System (VSTS) and Azure DevOps.
  
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a desire to drive project and organizational success.
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality results within tight deadlines.
  
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing high-volume, high-availability enterprise applications.
  
• Experience supporting both greenfield and legacy application modernization projects.
  
• Advanced SQL knowledge, including complex query validation and performance-related testing.
  
• Experience with API testing and service-oriented architectures.
  
• Experience testing scalable workflow and business process applications.
  
• Knowledge of cloud-based environments and deployment processes.
  
• Experience developing test strategies for enterprise-level systems.
  
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  
• Relevant QA, testing, or Agile certifications.
