Senior Project Manager (CPQ) - 9 month contract

Job Description

This contract role takes end-to-end delivery accountability for delivery of projecs that impacts business processes enabled through enterprise technology applications (ERP integrations, customer-facing and internal web platforms, laboratory and manufacturing system deployments, and associated data migration).  The role represents the business function and works in close partnership with the IT Technical Delivery Lead (who is accountable for the technical solution delivery), gathering requirements and acceptance criteria on behalf of operations, commercial, and quality stakeholders.  This role holds teams to those outcomes through to adoption rather than to go-live alone. The role is responsible for the overall project plan, budget, risk register, and delivery against agreed scope, cost, schedule, and quality.  The role works within the governance model and delivery framework set by the function, engaging daily with business process owners, internal IT (via the Technical Lead), site teams, and suppliers, and escalating through the programme or PM&OE leadership where decisions fall outside the project's authority, predominantly across the United States and the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Ideal candidate will have experience managing the deployment of Configure Price Quote (CPQ) software solutions.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to capably perform each of the following essential duties:

• Take end-to-end delivery accountability for business led projects enabled by IT solutions. Including requirements gathering through build, testing, deployment, adoption, and handover into live service
• Act as the business's representative throughout the delivery lifecycle and, working in close partnership with the IT Technical Delivery lead, translating operational, commercial, and quality needs into system requirements and holding internal IT teams and suppliers to agreed outcomes
• Own and maintain the project plan, budget, risk and issue log, and dependency list, tracking progress against agreed scope, cost, schedule, and quality, and reporting into programme governance
• Working with the IT Technical Delivery lead, deliver system integration activity at project level, including interface specification, master data alignment, data migration, cutover planning, and reconciliation with business process owners
• Deliver web-based platform and application projects, including requirements definition, user experience and accessibility expectations, content and data ownership, and release planning
• Work with the IT Technical Delivery Lead Plan and run user acceptance testing (UAT), including test scripts, business tester coordination, defect triage, and evidence to support the go or no-go recommendation
• Identify, manage and liaise with stakeholders impacted by initiatives to ensure alignment with business sponsors and resource allocation and engagement to deliver business benefits
• Deliver business change and adoption activity for assigned projects, including impact assessment, process updates, training delivery, cutover communications, and post-implementation support
• Manage technology suppliers and development partners engaged on the project, including scope definition, performance monitoring, change control, and acceptance of deliverables
• Ensure assigned projects meet the quality management system, computerised system validation, data integrity, and information security requirements applicable to a regulated life sciences environment
• Own and deliver concise and action-oriented project communication through regular project updates in PMO tools, steering committees, etc.
• Resolve day-to-day issues and competing priorities between business functions and IT, escalating promptly to the Programme Manager or Programme Management and Operational Excellence (PM&OE) leadership where resolution falls outside the project's authority
• Provide guidance and informal coaching to Project Managers and business project team members, and contribute lessons learned to PM&OE delivery frameworks, templates, and reporting

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Qualifications:

• Formal qualification in project management at practitioner level, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable work experience
• Track record of personally delivering complex information technology (IT) system projects to agreed scope, cost, schedule, and quality within a multi-site organisation
• Demonstrable experience of enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation or integration work, including interface specification, master data, data migration, and cutover
• Experience delivering web development projects, including requirements definition, working with development teams through iterative build, and release into live service
• Proven ability to represent business interests within technology delivery, translating operational needs into system requirements and challenging technical proposals that do not meet them
• Experience planning and running user acceptance testing (UAT), including test scripts, defect triage, and go or no-go evidence
• Experience of business change and adoption activity, including process updates, training delivery, and post-implementation support
• Experience of managing technology suppliers and development partners through to acceptance of deliverables
• Sufficient technical literacy to challenge and interrogate technical solutions, including application integration and interfaces, databases, and data structures, without being a hands-on developer
• Working knowledge of quality management systems, with experience delivering systems subject to computerised system validation, data integrity, and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) or regulatory requirements
• Practical, hands-on planning capability, including project schedules, critical path analysis, budget tracking, and risk and issue management
• Strong stakeholder management at working and site level, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences and influence without direct authority

Desired Knowledge and Qualifications:

• Degree in a scientific, engineering, business, or computing discipline
• Experience of a named enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform, such as IFS, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics
• Experience in the diagnostics, genomics, or wider life sciences industry, including laboratory or manufacturing systems such as laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or manufacturing execution systems (MES)
• Working knowledge of agile delivery frameworks and experience operating in a hybrid agile and stage-gate delivery environment
• Formal qualification in business analysis, or in a continuous improvement methodology such as Lean or Six Sigma
• Experience of working across United States and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) time zones with cross-functional and supplier teams

The customary salary range for this position is:

Minimum pay rate: $124,000 USD per annum

Maximum pay rate: $184,000 USD per annum

Pay is determined by several job‑related factors, including your skills, experience, education, and job-related qualifications.
