Position Summary

The Sr. Manager, Agile Practice Management is a senior delivery leader responsible for advancing enterprise agile practices, strengthening delivery governance, and enabling predictable execution across complex programs and portfolios. This role operates at the intersection of strategy, portfolio execution, agile practice development, and organizational change. The Sr. Manager partners with business, technology, product, operations, and senior leadership teams to translate strategic priorities into executable roadmaps, establish scalable delivery models, and ensure initiatives are governed with clear accountability, transparent reporting, disciplined risk management, and measurable business outcomes.

This position is expected to lead beyond individual project execution by shaping how work is planned, prioritized, funded, governed, delivered, and continuously improved across teams. The role requires strong executive presence, the ability to influence decisions across a matrixed organization, and the judgment to anticipate systemic delivery risks, frame options for leadership, and build repeatable practices that raise enterprise delivery maturity.

This position will be responsible for

  • Lead complex programs, portfolios, and cross-functional initiatives that require coordination across business, product, technology, operations, compliance, and delivery teams.

  • Translate enterprise strategy into executable delivery plans, roadmaps, milestones, governance structures, and measurable outcomes.
  • Guide portfolio sequencing, prioritization tradeoffs, resource planning, and funding recommendations to support strategic business objectives.
  • Ensure delivery commitments are managed with discipline across scope, schedule, budget, quality, dependencies, risks, issues, and decisions.
  • Develop, reinforce, and continuously improve agile governance standards, delivery practices, tools, templates, reporting expectations, and operating rhythms across the organization.
  • Drive consistent adoption of agile principles, product-oriented delivery practices, Product Development Lifecycle expectations, and portfolio governance disciplines.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify delivery processes, reduce duplication, improve transparency, and scale repeatable practices across teams and portfolios.
  • Research emerging agile concepts, benchmarks, industry practices, and delivery models to inform continuous improvement within the agile practice.
  • Anticipate enterprise-level risks, systemic delivery challenges, dependency impacts, and barriers to execution; develop path-to-green plans and recommendations for resolution.
  • Establish meaningful metrics, dashboards, portfolio reporting, and executive summaries that provide clear insight into progress, outcomes, risks, and decisions needed.
  • Frame complex delivery information into concise, executive-ready narratives that enable senior leaders to understand status, tradeoffs, impacts, and recommended actions.
  • Maintain readiness for audit, regulatory, financial, and operational expectations by ensuring appropriate documentation, controls, and delivery governance are in place.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders, product owners, business partners, and delivery teams by providing recommendations, escalation support, and decision framing.
  • Build cross-functional alignment across matrixed teams by clarifying ownership, decision rights, dependencies, communication channels, and escalation paths.
  • Influence stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization to gain alignment on priorities, delivery models, governance expectations, and change adoption.
  • Communicate confidently with large and senior audiences, bringing a clear point of view, recommendations, and action-oriented next steps.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop project managers, scrum masters, delivery leads, and cross-functional partners to strengthen delivery capability and agile maturity.
  • Promote self-organization, accountability, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Lead through ambiguity and change by helping teams stay aligned, focused, and resilient during shifting priorities or high-risk delivery moments.
  • Create reusable standards, playbooks, templates, and governance artifacts that enable consistent delivery practices beyond individual initiatives.
