Position Summary:

The FP&A Analyst is an experienced contributor to the finance team, playing a key role in the company's budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. This role independently builds and maintains financial models, monitors performance against budget, and delivers polished reporting and analysis that inform leadership decision-making. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced finance professional to deepen their FP&A expertise and take on greater ownership within a growing, physician-led healthcare organization.

 

Responsibilities may include:

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the preparation of components of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts, working directly with department and business unit leaders.
  • Consolidate and validate inputs from cross-functional departments, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate goals.
  • Track actual performance against budget and forecast, identify variances, and develop clear explanations and recommendations for leadership.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Independently conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Build and maintain supporting schedules, dashboards, and executive-ready summaries for leadership review.
  • Prepare revenue recognition reports as part of the close process, ensuring accurate accruals, cutoffs, and reconciliations across all practices.

Business Partnering:

  • Serve as a day-to-day finance partner to assigned business units, providing financial insights and guidance to support decision-making.
  • Proactively respond to data requests from business units and anticipate follow-on questions from leadership.
  • Lead scenario analysis and ad hoc financial calculations to support business decisions and investment discussions.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and lead opportunities to streamline financial models, reports, and recurring processes.
  • Maintain data integrity and consistency across financial systems and reporting tools, and recommend improvements where gaps are identified.
  • Document and continuously improve FP&A processes and procedures, and help train junior team members on best practices.

Ad-hoc Analysis:

  • Lead ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by the FP&A team or senior management.
  • Provide analytical support for special projects, business initiatives, and cross-functional strategic efforts as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, accounting, or a related role; healthcare or multi-site company experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques, with demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel; experience with financial planning tools or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is a plus.

 

Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large, complex data sets into clear, actionable insights.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to build effective working relationships across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools and data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
