AI Summary

The role involves designing and maintaining semantic models and AI-powered intelligence solutions to drive financial accountability and operational efficiency. You will act as a trusted advisor to leadership, translating complex business questions into structured analytical architectures.

R1 is the leading provider of technology-driven solutions that transform the patient experience and financial performance of hospitals, health systems and medical groups. We are the one company that combines the deep expertise of a global workforce of revenue cycle professionals with the industry’s most advanced technology platform, encompassing sophisticated analytics, AI, intelligent automation, and workflow orchestration.

R1 RCM is seeking a Senior Analyst to join the Business Intelligence organization — a high-impact team responsible for delivering decision-grade intelligence across the enterprise. This role exists at the intersection of business strategy and analytical architecture, translating P&L complexity, revenue cycle economics, and operational performance into actionable intelligence that drives measurable outcomes.

Core responsibilities are to directs AI-powered platforms to create revenue intelligence, operational efficiency models and cost optimization recommendations to foster financial accountability across R1.

The position operates as a trusted advisory function to leadership across service lines, framing ambiguous business questions into structured analytical architectures that serve the C-suite, operational leadership, and frontline execution teams with equal rigor.

The right candidate brings intellectual depth, financial fluency, and the conviction to challenge assumptions — paired with the technical command to deliver at enterprise scale.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE

  • Serve as an intelligence architect across R1's service lines — diagnosing where data-driven decision-making is missing or broken and designing solutions that close the gap
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders at all levels to translate complex, ambiguous questions into structured analytical approaches and deliverable intelligence products
  • Design and maintain semantic models and views that define how the business measures itself — creating governed, self-service data layers that scale
  • Architect intelligence solutions across multiple delivery channels
  • Direct AI-assisted tools as your execution layer — using Claude, Snowflake Cortex Intelligence, and MCP integrations to generate code, build reports, optimize queries, produce documentation, and validate output at speed
  • Design and maintain intelligence agents that deliver natural-language analytics to stakeholders — replacing manual report requests with conversational, always-available insight
  • Contribute to R1's Rapid Reporting Platform — an AI-powered system that compresses the path from business question to deployed intelligence product from weeks to hours
  • Own the analytical integrity of your solutions end-to-end — from source data validation through semantic model accuracy to stakeholder sign-off
  • Manage work within an Agile/sprint framework using Azure DevOps, maintaining transparency on progress, risks, and dependencies
  • Proactively identify intelligence gaps across the business and propose solutions before being asked — operating as a trusted advisor, not a ticket-taker
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and delivery status clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Mentor and elevate fellow team members by sharing architectural patterns, analytical frameworks, and AI-assisted workflows that raise the team's collective capability

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 3–5 years' experience in BI, analytics, or data architecture — with demonstrated ability to independently translate business problems into analytical solutions
  • Strong proficiency with Snowflake SQL and semantic model design
  • Experience with — or strong aptitude for — AI-assisted analytics workflows (e.g., Claude, Snowflake Cortex Intelligence, MCP integrations) as tools that amplify your output rather than replace your judgment
  • Demonstrated business acumen — you understand how operational and financial metrics connect
  • Experience working in Agile environments using Azure DevOps for sprint-based delivery
  • Proficiency with GitHub for version control and collaborative development
  • Familiarity with modern self-service delivery platforms (Posit Connect a plus)
  • Experience with R or Python for analytical scripting, automation, or report generation a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a relentless commitment to data accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you can explain complex analytical findings to any audience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment without losing quality
  • A systems thinker with a growth mindset — you see patterns across problems, seek increasing ownership, and build solutions that scale beyond yourself
  • Healthcare / revenue cycle industry experience preferred
