We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer for an exciting opportunity with a client in the fintech industry, working on innovative solutions to enhance customer experiences and streamline financial services. As a Senior Android Engineer, you will develop innovative Android applications and play a key role in mobile architecture and design, delivering outstanding user experiences. We expect engineers to demonstrate curiosity, passion, and a proactive mindset, with strong skills in algorithms, problem-solving, and building scalable, resilient, and crash-free Android applications. Architect, design, build, and deliver world-class Android applications.
Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other colleagues to identify meaningful challenges and deliver business value.
Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following Android development best practices.
Learn, grow, and mentor other engineers through code reviews and pair programming to accelerate their technical mastery.
Challenge existing team processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Contribute to and promote engineering standards and best practices, making a positive impact across the team.
Ensure application performance, stability, security, and reliability across supported Android devices and operating system versions.
5+ years of experience in software development.
4+ years of professional experience in Android development.
Experience architecting, designing, building, and delivering high-quality Android applications.
Strong knowledge of the Android SDK and the Android application development ecosystem.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin and experience writing idiomatic, readable, and maintainable code.
Solid understanding of Android architecture patterns, design principles, and SOLID principles.
Experience customizing Android UI components, navigation, transitions, lists, and complex layouts.
Proven track record of designing and implementing high-quality, reliable, and crash-free Android applications.
Practical experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with asynchronous operations.
Experience with dependency injection, modularization, and building maintainable application architectures.
Strong problem-solving skills and a good understanding of algorithms and data structures.
Experience working with agile methodologies and collaborative software development practices.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Experience designing and building highly reliable Android applications that serve millions of users.
Good understanding of Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI development.
Experience with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, and reactive programming.
Experience with Android testing strategies, including unit, integration, and UI testing.
Experience with Gradle, build optimization, and CI/CD pipelines for Android applications.
Experience with Google Play Console and the application release process.
Experience with GraphQL.
Experience in the FinTech industry.
Experience in consumer lending or credit card issuing.
