Position Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, channel partner development, business development, key account management, and overall commercial performance across Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. This individual will lead the execution of GSSI's regional growth strategy through a network of distributors, resellers, and strategic customers while ensuring accurate forecasting, market intelligence, and alignment with the global sales and marketing strategy. The Regional Sales Manager will be expected to identify opportunities to strengthen the regional sales structure and develop the resources, partnerships, and capabilities required to support long-term growth.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with the company's strategic vision and business objectives.
  • Develop and execute territory plans and country-specific growth strategies to achieve regional bookings, revenue, and strategic growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, Technical Support, and Operations teams to support product launches, customer engagement, and regional growth initiatives.
  • Assist in establishing and reviewing quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs) across partners and direct staff in the territory.
  • Identify staffing requirements and recruit, develop, lead, coach, and mentor regional employees and technical resources as business needs evolve.
  • Establish and review quarterly sales objectives and performance metrics with the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with distributors, resellers, and key accounts to evaluate performance, identify growth opportunities, and develop corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and monthly forecast through disciplined use of Salesforce and regular business reviews with channel partners.
  • Represent the company at industry events and tradeshows.
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate regional distributors and channel partners to ensure alignment with growth objectives, market coverage requirements, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Collect and communicate Voice of Customer (VoC), competitive intelligence, and market trends to support product development, marketing initiatives, and strategic planning.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years industry experience preferred. Experience with ground penetrating radar or related technical instrumentation is preferred. An MBA or Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales, business development, or channel management experience, including experience managing distributors, resellers, or strategic accounts.
  • Prior leadership or personnel management experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with senior management, direct sales, other departments and customers in an emotionally intelligent, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Attention to detail, a growth mindset, a “can-do” attitude, and a proven ability to foster teamwork.
  • Advanced computer skills, including a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com.
  • Must be able to travel within territory up to 50%.
  • Professional fluency in both Japanese and English is required. Fluency in Korean or another Southeast Asian language is highly desirable.
