Are you an experienced Sales Executive? If so, we want you to join our growing team! Wellfleet, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, seeks an experienced Regional Sales Executive to support the Wellfleet sales team and Wellfleet Workplace block of business.

The Regional Sales Executive is responsible for cultivating and building strong relationships with intermediaries to generate prospect opportunities. As an effective sales representative, you will aggressively develop new distribution channels and intermediaries within these channels, while striving to maintain existing relationships within your designated territory. In addition to servicing the brokerage market, this role will also be responsible for finding and building new wholesale relationships. This role will also assist in supporting the Workplace Services business as needed by assisting in the correct go to market strategy.   

In this role, you will…

  • Be accountable for identifying and closing opportunities to acquire new employer groups and to sell Wellfleet product offerings and services
  • Re-enroll and add additional products to existing clients by interacting with insurance brokers, third party administrators, and consultants within assigned territory
  • Establish and build relationships with key sources who will market the Wellfleet portfolio of products to the nation’s leading employers
  • Manage overall relationships with key brokers while directing internal account support
  • Ensure Wellfleet products are competitively positioned across all distribution channels within assigned area(s)
  • Assist in developing strategies and plans to grow the business as well as creating selling models to optimize sales results
  • Create and maintain a business plan based on the customers’ anticipated requirements
  • Develop, execute, and monitor a sales and service business plan consistent with the overall strategy and objectives for revenue, sales, persistency, and earnings
  • Drive the pipeline and revenue goals for accounts within scope of responsibility to meet and ultimately exceed growth goals
  • Assess short-term and long-term market potential by understanding Wellfleet’s current market position within each broker’s book of business
  • Define desired market position and long-term goal with each broker through effective account planning
  • Understand the clients’ business issues and work with sales and product leadership to align Wellfleet’s product development, case set-up, underwriting and other internal resources and services to meet the clients’ needs
  • Manage the sales pipeline in collaboration with sales operations by strategically monitoring health and tracking top pursuits
  • Develop and maintain a holistic view of Wellfleet’s offerings and competitor and market conditions within the assigned area and identifies account segment opportunities
  • Gather and provide market intelligence regarding national and local market activity including information on all aspects of competitors, customer requirements and emerging industry/segment trends
  • Compile statistics, evaluates data, forms conclusions and presents recommendations to leadership in several areas
  • Stay abreast of the curve on technical product related knowledge and general sales techniques and trends
  • Consult with and influence a variety of constituents based on strategies and actual performance that sets Wellfleet apart from competitors
  • Develop internal and external relationships resulting in excellent work outcomes
  • Represent Wellfleet in a positive and professional manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

We are looking for candidates with…

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 5+ years with employer group and voluntary insurance sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess and maintain an active and valid Accident, Health and Sales Producer license or have the ability to obtain required industry licensing
  • Proven ability to create and collaborate on developing long term strategic outcomes
  • Specific sales experience in the group market segment with demonstrated knowledge of, and relationships with, target regional and national producer firms and alternative distribution channels, such as producing third party administration and enrollment companies
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software such as Salesforce
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

The annual gross base salary is $75,000 to $100,000. This range anticipates the low and high end of the salary for this position. This position is also eligible for a Variable Incentive Compensation (VIC) plan. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and competencies.  Salary is one component of Wellfleet’s total compensation and benefits package, which includes medical, vision and dental insurance options, life and accident insurance, 401(k), and short-term and long-term disability insurance.
