QA Engineer (Fin DB)

As a licensed financial company with principal membership with card schemes, we specialize in global payments and providing businesses with multi-currency accounts.

The role is about:

As a QA Engineer – FinDB, you will help ensure the quality, stability, and reliability of our financial data and payment-related systems. You will work across QA Automation, API and backend testing, functional testing, and debugging, helping make sure our systems process and handle data accurately.

This is a hands-on QA Automation role where you will contribute to strong test coverage, identify issues early, and help deliver stable and reliable software in a complex financial environment

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of QA activities, understand systems deeply, and contribute to building a strong quality mindset within the team.

Location: Remote from Poland, Portugal (Contractor arrangement) or Cyprus Onsite (Relocation support provided)
Reporting to: Team Lead

What you will do:  

• Build and maintain automated tests using Playwright with TypeScript.
• Create and execute test cases based on new feature implementations.
• Perform API and backend testing, ensuring correct system behaviour and data integrity.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing across FinDB systems.
• Conduct manual testing when needed to ensure full coverage.
• Prepare test scenarios, test cases, test data, and coverage based on product requirements.
• Analyse logs and system flows to identify issues and understand root causes.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear evidence and reproducible steps.
• Participate in refinement sessions and provide QA input early in the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to improve quality and delivery.
• Contribute to improving test automation, coverage, and QA practices.
• Contribute to delivering stable and reliable software in a complex financial environment.

What we need:

• 3+ years of experience in QA Automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Playwright
• TypeScript
• Python
• PyTest
• Experience with API and backend testing.
• Strong functional and integration testing experience.
• Ability to design and structure clear, maintainable test cases.
• Strong debugging skills, including working with logs and system behaviour.
• Good understanding of data validation and system behaviour.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics clearly.
• Comfortable taking ownership and working in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Nice to have:

• Experience in payments, fintech, e-commerce, or financial platforms.
• Experience with acquiring, settlement, payouts, or transaction-based systems.
• Understanding of transaction flows, reconciliation, or financial data.
• Experience with Selenium.
• Understanding of distributed systems or microservices architectures.
• Exposure to cloud-based environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git.

Hiring Process:

• Step 1 – Thinking in Action (40 minutes) Your first conversation will be with our Talent Acquisition team. We'll explore your background, career journey, motivations, and overall fit for the role. As part of this discussion, you'll also complete a short technical screening that will be reviewed by our engineering team. This stage helps us understand both your experience and how you approach technical challenges.
• Step 2 – Build in Production (60–90 minutes) Meet with the Team Lead and technical experts for a practical assessment. Depending on the role, this may involve a live coding exercise or a real-world scenario designed to evaluate your technical skills, problem-solving approach, and ability to work through challenges similar to those faced by our teams.
• Step 3 – Final Interview (45 minutes) The final stage is a group interview with senior members of our Technology squad, which may include the CTO, CPO, and Team Lead. Together, we'll discuss team fit, collaboration style, expectations from both sides, and any remaining questions about the role, team, or technology domain. This is also an opportunity for you to learn more about our culture and ways of working.
